Rectangular wooden box with a hinged lid and lock. Brass pieces nailed to the corners and sides are decoratively engraved with floral and avian designs.
Female figure on a painted black wood base. A crown is on her head. Short overdress and long skirt, both hanging in folds. No arms. Clock hangs over shoulders. Traces of white, black, and green paint. Figure attached to the base by two metal pegs. On the base, there is written 'PHILLIPINES, SANTOS, VIRGIN MARY, MID-17TH CENTURY, FROM'. White label with '3 17' glued on top of the base.
Circular rattle formed of two bent concentric circles of wood holding four compartments containing the sound-making pebbles; a wooden rod is inset across the centre. Plain on one side and painted with red criss-crosses on the other, and with red and blue stripes around the outer ring.
Carved, rectangular, dark brown hardwood chest inlaid with pearl-white shell inlay. All sides and metal hinged lid have relief carving in leaf and curl design; floral and triangular inlay along borders (6.5 to 9.0 cm. wide) and in relief panels. Key hole centre front at top, below lid, no lock. Top of lid and carved inlaid feet nailed; mortise and tenon side joints. Two hinges and two metal side handles; rusted.
Light wood shaft cut through and joined near the midpoint. Black iron flattened spearhead hammered around the shaft and secured with one nail. Coil of wire below the spearhead. Solid pointed metal butt, flattened and hammered around the end of the shaft, secured with a coiled iron band.
Brown wood shaft, black iron spearhead, and pointed butt. Base of the spearhead is flattened and hammered around the shaft attached with a nail. Iron butt hammered around the shaft. Sixteen notches cut into the shaft near the mid-section. Shaft has been cut through and re-joined.
Dark wood shaft cut and joined with a dowel. Narrow iron point with the tang inserted into the shaft bound with tightly coiled iron and two sections of loosely coiled iron. Band of incised geometric design near the point. Metal point flattened and hammered around shaft at butt.
Tipped with a sharpened black metal point hammered around the shaft. Butt end has black metal blade hammered and rounded. Blade joined to the shaft with nails. Shaft cut near centre and joined.
Carved wooden lure (parts a-c), conical in shape. The body (part a) consists of a cone structure with a smaller cone mounted on top. Three, long wooden paddle-shaped projections are attached to the long cone with nails and are bound to the top with red cherry bark. Two projections are broken in half (part b-c), and the other is split lengthwise, at the bottom. There is an old adhesive, red and white label affixed to one half of broken projection that reads ‘Fish lure, Saanich Arm, 19-3’.
Mottled wood shaft cut through and joined near the mid-point. Dowel visible at the join which is inserted into both sections of the shaft. Leaf-shaped spearhead hammered around the shaft and secured with a nail. Pointed metal butt flattened at the shaft end and hammered around the shaft. Band of iron coiled around shaft below point.
