Paper umbrella. Bamboo ribs are unfinished on interior; exterior ribs are black with brown tips; spiral design in red and yellow on oiled paper; gold paper band on interior joints; silver paper band at inner edge. Three holes in paper.

Paper umbrella with wooden ribs. Conical; ribbed; oval handle; brown finial with silver tip; leaf motif graduates in size and extends from edge spirally to adjacent edge.

Oval bowl carved from a single piece of yellow-brown wood of uneven thickness. Sanded surface has been oiled. Thicker and slightly pointed at the ends. Small flat bottom with a piece of paper stuck to it.

Elder's stool carved from single piece of light coloured wood. Three legs each with flaring bases. Seat is round and concave. Well finished.

Stool carved from single piece of wood; seat is oblong with pointed ends, and is widest near the ends and narrower at the center with a slight dip towards the centre. The base is a hollowed-out, conical shape, which then extends into a relatively flat stem with slightly curved sides. Several copper staples overall. A curved, copper handle made of a thick wire with ends inserted through two holes in the stem and bent back to secure the handle. Slightly polished finish. Part a: base and part of seat. Carved, wooden headdress in the form of a heart shaped human face; wide open mouth with two rows of teeth, upper are pointed and lower incisors are wide with gaps between; oval eyes; arched eyebrows; slender nose with sharply cut nostril; small protruding ears with triangular detail. Top of head is smooth and bulbous; remains of short fuzzy black beard and moustache. Cicatrisation on left cheek, creating a smiling effect. Hollowed at back, groove behind chin also a crack.

A closing fan with twenty-seven inner ribs of split bamboo each with an abstract design burned on the base of each side and two parent ribs of bamboo also with burned designs while one end of each is set into a piece of dark rosewood through which is passed a brass rivet. Fan covered with light brown paper on one side and painted with a landscape scene and six characters. Upper edge is covered with very sticky cellophane tape.

Wooden stool, smooth, carved in one piece. Circular, slanted seat; solid tubular edge; supported by four standing human figures with the seat resting on their heads. All with three bracelets incised on their right forearms, supporting jars with their left hands. Jars are joined to bodies and fingers. The other two figures hold in their right hands narrow bag-like objects with long necks curved around sideways. Left hands are pressed to left abdomens. Knees are slightly bent with feet very roughly carved or missing. A spotted standing animal with joined front paws supports underneath the centre of the seat with its back. At the edge a wooden column supports the seat from the hind end and a broken tail hangs down. Solid circular wooden base.

A flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wood handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is circular except for the lower edge where the handle is attached which is straight and at right angles to the handle. Fan is covered with lacquered paper that has a design of three swirls converging at the centre coloured red, green, and yellow. It has a narrow edging of black paper. The fan is inserted into a split in the handle which is flat and lozenge-shaped where it covers the fan which is attached with two rivets. The shape of the handle is repeated with an outline of orange paint on the fan.
