Bark is bent and laced into place, with birch twine around the rim overcast with thin strips of root--a small strip of bark runs underneath the rim as reinforcement. Large blue and red beads are affixed around the rim. A handle is made from a thin strip of rawhide strung from one side of the rim to the other.

The rim is overcast splints beaded with black bark. Part of the overcasting stitch leaves the splints exposed.
