Stock piece of green jade. Fraser River 8 miles north of Lytton, B.C.* Fide donor GTE: Stock piece of jade of a green color veined in a lighter green. Found on the site of an old house, dug up when gardening, at a high bluff point where Stein Creek flows into the Frazer River [sic] some 8 miles north of Lytton, British Columbia. It shows several cutting grooves and polished faces along its entire length. Oblong jade cobble. Abouth 25% of surface appears to be rounded by natural agents. The remaining surface area consists of smooth linear abrasion scars interspersed with fracture scars. This is assumed to reflect removal of saw blades. *Information is from the original accession ledger.
