A woman's hat made from a woven straw base that has been coated with gesso and formed into a boat shape by bending the brim down at each side. Brim is covered with black velvet, and cotton fabric. Crown is decorated with pleated embroidered red, green, black, and gold-coloured ribbon. Heavy threads attached to the underside of the crown to secure to the head.

Shawl873/13

Woman's small rectangular shawl, with white centre surrounded on three sides by rows of black cut work embroidery and white lace, with black and white lace edging. The cut embroidery is backed with a scrap of bright pink cotton textile, and the white lace is backed by a pale green and pale blue moire ribbon, which have been loosely attached to the back of the shawl.

A large square red cotton shawl. Bordered on four sides with wide floral multi-coloured printed bands consisting of red, white, blue, and yellow flowers with green leaves that are outlined by an inner band consisting of red outward curving arches on yelow background and an outer band consisting of red and green dots on a yellow background. Additional floral motifs on two corners consisting of two large white and one large blue flower surrounded by smaller flowers with green leaves.

A woman's pleated full wrap-around off-white half-slip. Gathered onto a waistband with attached ties. One horizontal tuck at hip level (for shortening). Lace trim at hem. Heavily starched.

Men's dark blue wool tunic. The tunic has a standing collar and keyhole neckline with a plastic button and leather loop. The tunic hangs straight from the shoulders in front, back is slightly fitted above waist and is flared below the waist by means of triangular gores. There are bands of red and yellow wool, embroidery and rickrack of blue and green at collar, shoulders, neck opening, upper back, cuffs and bottom hem. The bands around the neckline overlap at the bottom. The inner collar is lined with brown, green and tan patterned cotton; the rest is unlined.

The tunic hangs straight from the shoulders in front, is semi-fitted in back above the waist, and flared below the waist by means of triangular inserts. There are bands of red, yellow and green on the collar, neckline, upper back, cuffs and bottom hem. The collar is lined with burgundy patterned cotton; the rest is unlined.

Four Winds Hat1128/1

Man's hat. Trimmed with a band of fur, bands of rickrack and appliqued fabric; multi-coloured fabric streamers at centre back. The dark blue four-pointed crown is edged in red. Lined with off-white, red and blue cotton flannelette. Points of the crown are stiffened with an unseen material (possibly the spines of large feathers?).

Brown birch bark basket (part a) tapering from a rectangular bottom to an oval-shaped top. Bark is bent and laced into place, with a twig around the rim overcast with red dyed spruce root. A flat, fitted lid (part b) features a looped handle in its centre set atop two layers of oval birch bark panels with decorative, zigzagging borders. Both the basket and the lid have decorative cross-shaped stitches in dyed red and green spruce root on them at well-spaced intervals.

Female doll with a white face (part a) and dressed as Ryukuan dancer. She is dressed in an elaborate brocade costume of red, gold, blue, and white. Her hair is tied back with a purple scarf. She is holding a green stick (part b) that has a cylinder that is perpendicularly attached to the stick in her right hand. Her right arm angles backward.

Ankle-high reindeer fur boots with up-turned toes and multicoloured ties. Uppers and soles are made of brown fur, with red woolen trim around the toe and sides. Around each foot opening is a brown skin casing with a black, red and white braided tie. On the ends of the ties are large black, red and white tassels.
