Necklace1590/281

A necklace of 187 red and white beads. The lower beads are in groups of five (2 white, 1 red and 2 white) with a beaver strung at each fifth bead. There are six beavers on each side. At the base is a Lorraine cross. Completing the necklace on each side is a two-white and two-red bead pattern. Maker’s mark stamped on the beavers. Further stamp on the base of the cross.

Necklace1590/280

Necklace consisting of small white and red glass beads, interspersed with 4 larger red-and-white beads and 4 larger white beads in different groupings, 2 small round brass beads side by side at the join, gold Lorraine cross with clover leaf terminals and zigzag border engraving, and 4 silver engraved beavers. Necklace strung on wire. Maker’s mark at bottom of the cross in a cartouche. Cartouches with no decipherable marks also on the backs of the beavers.

Necklace1590/279

Necklace with 90 glass beads, 18 green glass beads, one blue bead, 2 red and black cylindrical beads, 8 flat turtles and one thick Latin cross with short cross bar and rounded ends. Turtles have cross-hatched engraving and the Jost hallmark. Cross is also engraved and has a stamp 'Boyer' on it. Necklace is threaded on string.

Oval brooch with cross-pin. Four serrations of four around the outside edge and three diamond cutouts. Set in centre is a large green glass stone, above which is triangular-shaped cutout with a small diamond cutout at top. Maker's mark.

Pair of earrings in the form of an eagle with outspread wings and fanned tail, heads turned to the left. Curved bar overhead joins wing tips. Thistle flower pendant attached on ring to tail feathers. Wire loop soldered to back of earrings. Maker’s mark on left wing.

Pair of earrings with an outer ring with 7 oval cutouts. Inner circle has a central circular cutout and 8 oval cutouts which alternate with 7 engraved fleur de lys. There is a thin loop inserted on each side. Maker’s mark stamped on the inner ring and a lion on the other side.

An armband lined with red material sewn onto small holes along edge. Flower-like cutout border along the edges. In the centre is an engraving of a heron standing in cat-tail marsh. To the left is an engraved portrait in profile of King George III in a cartouche surrounded by ribbons and flowers, and to the right is a similar portrait of Queen Charlotte. Maker’s marks in five cartouches below heron.
