The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Ten whale teeth with holes drilled into them, attached together by a braided, brown coir fibre cord.
A closing fan with twenty-five inner ribs of ivory, interconnected with a white ribbon, each having abstract designs cut-out with Chinese symbols? The two parent ribs have a floral design cut-out. There is a metal loop with rivets and a white cord tassel.
Ten metal arrows with bamboo grass shafts. Sharp barbed heads with hollow shafts. Each has three feathers intricately bound by string. All have straight angled barbs at either sides of the bottom of the arrow, except for one (part g) that has curved barbs. Six have dark feathers (parts a, c, f-i). Three have white feathers (b, e, and j) with one having shorter feathers (part e). One has brown feathers (part d).
Sixteen (parts b-q) small thin rectangular mats made of parallel bamboo grasses sewn together by threads going across perpendicularly in seven groups that attach to a larger flat piece at each end. Part b: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark blue with dark blue threads and natural brown ends; c: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark blue with dark blue threads and natural brown ends; d: the parallel bamboo grasses are bright red with pink threads and bright red ends; e: the parallel bamboo grasses are lime green with white threads and lime green ends; f: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark blue with dark blue threads and natural brown ends; g: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark pink with light pink threads and dark pink ends; h: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark red with dark red threads and dark red ends; i: the parallel bamboo grasses are natural brown with natural cream-coloured threads and natural brown ends; j: the parallel bamboo grasses are mint green with light green threads and mint green ends; k: the parallel bamboo grasses are lime green with light green threads and lime green ends; l: the parallel bamboo grasses are lime green with light green threads and lime green ends; m: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark red with dark red threads and dark red ends; n: the parallel bamboo grasses are yellow with natural cream-coloured threads and yellow ends; o: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark blue with dark blue threads and natural brown ends; p: the parallel bamboo grasses are dark red with light pink threads and dark red ends; and q: the parallel bamboo grasses are grey-blue with light blue threads and grey-blue ends.
Long spear that is pointed at both ends. One end is has long strands of red then black hair. Fibre cording is wrapped around the end.
A very long plain heavy light brown bamboo bow with a split cane string, which has one loosened end.
Plain shafts with points in the shape of multiple stacked cones. Some have bands of geometric design emphasized with white pigment. There are traces of red paint on some points. Part a: five stacked cones having the smallest ones in the middle with three rings; b: three stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with six rings; c: four stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with a horizontal row of diagonal grooved lines; d: four stacked cones having the smallest ones in the middle with one ring; e: five stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with two rings; f: three stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with one ring; g: four stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with five rings; h: six stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with a double-diamond pattern; i: six stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with two rings; j: four stacked cones having the smallest ones in the middle with two rings; k: five stacked cones having the smallest ones in the middle without rings; l: five stacked cones having the smallest ones in the middle with two rings; m: five stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with four zig zag rings; n: four stacked cones having the smallest two in the middle with three rings; o: four stacked cones having the smallest two in the middle with four rings; p: four stacked cones having the smallest two in the middle with a horizontal row of diagonal grooved lines; q: four stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with three rings; r: five stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with two rings; s: five stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with three rings; t: five stacked cones having the two smallest below the longest top point with chevron notching; u: four stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with a horizontal row of grooved diagonal lines; v: five stacked cones progressing shorter toward the top with four rings; w: six stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with seven rings in addition to a dark vertically dashed linear design; x: four stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with three rings; y: four stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with four rings; and z: five stacked cones having the smallest in the middle with one ring.
Two pieces of carved shell attached together by fibre to make the hook section secure. There is a small white feather under the fibre wrapping.
Long boat-shaped wooden piece (c) that is hollowed out in the middle and has a hole at either end on the inside rim. Several strands of fibre hang from two wooden rods and are attached to a long stick with fibre cording (d).
Weft comb (a) is made of four pieces that are fitted together as a frame and are tied with cord. The teeth in the centre of the wooden frame appear to be made of split bamboo. Braided fibre cording is attached to each end of the frame and is secured with knots. The bobbin (b) is boat-shaped and dug out in the centre. Missing shaft and reel.
