Tobacco ContainerAj120

Small, pear-shaped container carved from one piece of wood with a leather lid and a long metal chain. Connected to the bottle on the centre and onto the lid by cotton cords. Also connected to the centre of the bottle on the opposite side. Centre has incised squares. Lines of blue, red, and white beads at the bottom knob. Lid has two lines of beads in red, green, blue, and white. Top of the lid has concentric rings of different colours. Smells of tobacco and has tobacco particles in it.

Small cylindrical bone container. Both ends are fitted with leather lids. Grass tie on one end. Blue nylon cord pierced onto end with no grass tie. Both ends are concave. Bone area has two dark horizontal lines etched around approximately 1.5 cm. apart.

Grey-green/brown wood wolf's head and four long petal-shaped pieces glued by pitch to the neck, then tied with strips of red-brown birch bark. The wolf is carved with tapering oval eyes, grooved pointed ears, a rounded nose, and a tongue that hangs out.

Javanese Wayang Kulit puppet of monkey general. Brown pudgy body with red face, red and white eyes, open mouth with red teeth. Curling black beard and hair; feet set wide apart on red base. Wears yellow, blue, red, headdress; bracelets on wrists and ankles and on upper arms. Necklace extending to waist. Bare upper torso. Wears checked black and white skirt with red lines, blue, green, black, white, flounces going down legs and between legs onto base. Plastic rivets on elbows and shoulders. Green stick ties horn to hands. Support stick goes from head, down body and extends further to a carved pointed end. Paint faded or peeled off in areas. Three fingers missing on one hand. A bird is on hat, and one on his waist sash.

Javanese Wayang (shadow) Kulit (leather) puppet of man wearing elaborate crown and outfit. Upper torso bare except for floral pink and red sashes that connect to crown. Large trousers go from hips to knees, highly decorated in pink, blue, and green, and gold leaf all over. Feet together on a red platform. Plastic rivets at shoulder and elbows. Support stick goes from head all down body into point attached by white string half way to end of horn stick curved. Arm sticks also black attached to hands with white string.

Long, flat wood object with a u-shape cut in both ends. Thin cord is wrapped five times around one end and knotted. Other end has hole which is threaded with a thicker cord forming a half-hitch knot over one fork to make a long loop. Loop end has a long thin strip of horn(?) with one end doubled over cord and wrapped with sinew.

Shadow PuppetEdz1383

A large shadow puppet of a male Chinese warrior with a black chin beard and a long black moustache. Floral warrior hat. Wearing long sleeved floral robes with matching trousers. Flowers are pink and yellow with green leaves. Edges of sleeves and trouser bottoms are black as are his shoes. Plastic rivets at shoulders, elbows, hands, hips, and knees. One handling stick is at an angle facing down tied to the ear and the hat.

Container (part a) of light-coloured wood painted red. Very greasy surface. Cylindrical with flared top and bulbous body. Strap of leather for the handle is tied in a knot on one side, tied onto sewn fibrous string on the opposite side, and goes through two cord hooks. Lid (part b) of leather with different coloured beads in yellow, red, and blue. sewn on some missing. Beads go down the side lid where sewn. Lid also greasy and inside is cracked has particles of fat on them. Base is rounded.
