Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with skirt (part a), and a control rod (part c) with a long shaft that passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Head positioned downwards; green face with exaggerated features: bulging white eyes, red irises, large wedge-shaped nose, red lips, and white teeth. Thick moustache with small beard, other details in black. Black gelung supit urang headdress with Garuda Mungkur in pink and red. Neck, upper torso gold; pair of gold and red ornaments on each arm at bicep and wrist. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Red chest covering and apron with green and blue sequins, beads, brown trim. Apron with red waistband and yellow fringe at bottom. Purple, blue and beige batik skirt.

Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with skirt (part a), and a control rod (part d) with a long shaft that passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, and the figure's right arm (part c) is detached. Each arm has a long controlling rod attached. Pink face positioned forward; bulging eyes with red irises, large wedge-shaped nose, wide red lips and prominent upper teeth. Fangs extend from top and bottom row at each side of mouth. Long hair, eyebrows, sideburns, moustache and beard painted in black. Crown (mahkota) with diadem (jamang), karawista, ear ornaments (sumping) and Garuda Mungkur; in gold, red, pink, white, black, yellow. Upper torso pink, uncovered; wide shoulders, prominent belly. Red, yellow ornaments on upper arms and at wrists. Left arm detached; hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Long batik skirt (kain) in yellow-brown, red and black.

Rod PuppetIb343

A three-dimensional male humanoid figure puppet. Has a large head and jointed arms attached to controlling rods. The pink face is positioned forward with white eyes that have red irises. There are prominent white upper teeth, red lips, a beard, and other details in black. Brown material (felt ? synthetic ?) is tacked to the face as a moustache. The red cylindrical cap has gold top diadem (jamang), and sumping. Black hair net. Gold neck. The lower arms are brown (stained?) with the hands held flat and bending back at the wrist. The torso is covered in a beige tight-fitting garment with dark brown trim on cuffs, a yoke collar, and a shoulder overlay with fifteen gold-coloured sequins. String is tied around the headdress and the neck. A dark brown panel is on the front of the torso. Wearing a blue, purple, and yellow batiked skirt.

RattleNb567

Brown wood rattle consisting of two rounded pieces put together, each with a semi-cylindrical handle, creating a full rounded spherical oval rattle joined together on the handle by three pegs. Small tufts of fur have been secured at the three places at either side where the rattle is tied. One side has a carved man's face that has black oval in tapering oval eyes with black brows above, diagonal black lines across the forehead, a black nose with red nostrils, and an open red mouth outlined by black. The other side has a carved hawk's face that has black oval in tapering oval eyes with black u form brows above, and a black beak outlined by red with a halo-like red feature around the head.

OrnamentIe427 a-c

A light brown-coloured elongated oval wood piece carved as human head (part a). Hair protrudes from the top and extends as a point over the forehead. Facial features are in relief. One horizontal step is cut for the eyebrows. The eyelids surround slit-like eyes filled slightly with silver foil(?). The long nose is pierced with knotted raffia. The cheekbones are peaked, and deeply recessed below, are formed by elevated sections resembling a nose form which continues around to the back of the head. The lips are formed by adding two balsa(?) pieces to the mouth. Faint traces of iron oxide, and black, and white paint. Raffia binding passes through pierced holes at the top back of the head. Dark brown wrapped bamboo ring (part b) with fine wicker work is added out from the edge with the ring width tapering in at one point. (One knotted fragment (part c) is separate)

Large curl (gelung supit urang) headdress with diadem and long sumping in black, gold, green, and red. Gold neck and torso; arms have gold and red ornaments at wrist and bicep. Red chest covering and apron, with red trim and green and blue sequins. Apron with yellow frills at bottom, red waistband. Long batik skirt (blue and red on beige). Two pieces of lined paper with handwritten (in pen) inscription 'Abimanyu' glued to headdress and skirt.

Neck, upper torso gold; each arm has a pair of ornaments at wrist and bicep in green and red. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Black chest covering and red apron with waistband and yellow fringe sewn with sequins and beads. Blue and brown batik skirt.

Small single hair curl (kendit). Gold neck and upper torso; arms with green and red ornaments at biceps and wrists. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Black chest covering with yellow trim, sequins and beads. Black apron with red waistband, brown wavy trim, sequins and beads. Long batik skirt with drawstring (blue, brown, and beige).

Two-dimensional male humanoid figure; large head and jointed arms attached to controlling rods. Face and body in profile; black face with incised features, long curved nose, large round eye, red lower lip and white teeth, hair and beard. Large crown (mahkota) headdress with diadem, karawista, Garuda Mungkur (short tongue), siyung jawi, and white badong (wing-like ridge). Neck and body gold; arms have ornate wrapped ornaments (red, white, green at biceps; white, red, and blue at wrists). Hands held clenched with blade-like appendages. Upper body has pink and green wrapped garments; extremely detailed skirt and apron over widespread feet with black upturned shoes. Base has inscriptions '1965 Oktober' on one side, and Javanese on the other (possibly an identification).

Basket made from a frame composed of two bent branches and several supports with twisted grass woven around them. Square at the mouth tapering towards the base. A grey twisted goat hair rope is secured to one side and serves as a carrying strap.
