Wide brimmed hat with sloping sides and slightly convex across top of crown. Rim has two raised rows of three strand twining. Brim is z-twist plain twining with twill twined zigzag pattern. Crown and top are three strand(?) z-twist twined. Attached inner head band is two strand z-twist. Freely painted design is generally bilaterally symmetrical with a green four pointed star on top with central unpainted channel. Large green ovoid eye on either side of crown, black outlined with round black centre and tapering outline. On crown are green, small b and d shapes surrounding red u-shapes with horizontal red lines between. On front, of crown, is red u with green ovoid at bottom and green u interior. On brim, at front, is a face in square-like black outlined ovoid with wide mouth, red ovoid eyes, green l-shapes above black outlined eyes, and green u-shapes at top. Diagonal limb-like form on sides, with ovoid in ovoid start and bent u to outside with green interior. Red double cross before u-shaped tail section with two black curving lines on sides with central red line crossed by horizontal red lines. Ovoid in ovoids on each side of centre with red and green u's above.

Cup-shaped basket with slightly flaring sides. Bottom has 10 rows of twining to start and the remainder alternates twining and plaiting. Sides are twined with raised parallel vertical rows of twill twined zigzags. Evenly spaced, overlaid (false embroidered) diamond shapes in 2 horizontal rows. Rim is twill twined with vertical warps exposed at top.

BasketEf221 a-b

Basket with natural twill weave inside and outer basket (part a)made of purple, blue, yellow, and green fillets of cane woven in diagonal and vertical patterns. A twill weave is used and by a simple elaboration of the diagonal combination of the coloured warp and woof gives rise to a geometric design. These two baskets are placed together and are caught between strips of split bamboo. These pieces are lashed to the basket with fine fillets of purple cane. A second basket has been made in the same manner and fits as a lid (part b).

Oval basket (a) with a flat, fitted lid (b). Sharp shoulder with reinforced cedar hoop rim. Grass plaiting foundation surrounded by grass twining. One horizontal element within the grass checker work is covered by twining. Natural colour with a band of dark purple with zigzag geometric design at the basket's midpoint and in an oval on the top of the lid. Two rings of black at the base of the basket and at rim of lid. The lid has dark purple centre.

Small woven basket with an Open, circular, flaring cylindrical foundation of crossed pieces of cedar bark surrounded by twining. Bottom has been darned with wool. Natural colour with very faded reddish colour at midpoint and base. Twill twining at base.

Rectangular woven basket with an attached flap-like lid. At front edge of flat lid is red grass tie. At the rim of basket the ends have bowed out leaving a gap between edge of rim and lid at each end of the basket. Bottom of basket consists of three wide strips of cedar bark weft plaited with thin strips of cedar bark warp. Natural colour with three equidistant bands of geometric designs. At mid-point of basket is large scale red geometric design. Lid has horizontal red stripes. Mid-point of flat lid has wide blue-purple strip held in place by cedar bark warps. Edges of basket finished by twining and twill twining.

Round, straight-sided, sharp shouldered basket (a) with a raised, fitted lid (b). Cedar bark checker work foundation surrounded by grass twining. Rim is reinforced hoop of cedar bark, edged with two rows of twining. Natural colour with band of blue-purple with faded yellow zigzag design at base of basket and lid. Centre of lid has blue purple circular geometric design surrounded by seven spots of blue-purple. Small scale geometric design.
