Woven basket with spruce root warp and weft with design elements in aniline dyed grass and spruce root. Various twined weaves - base is mixed twined (plain twined alternating with wicker weave), sides are plain twined with an embroidered design. Design consists of two wide horizontal bands composed of brown concentric squares with an orange and green diamond in the centre. Both bands are bordered by rows of brown and cream. Between the bands are stepped patterns in green and orange. The base has two bands of checkered green.

Carved wooden pulley (a) with a large iron hook attached at the top. A length of twined rope with a hook attached at one end (b) is threaded through the pulley; wooden hook is made from a v-shaped branch. Part c is a long fragment of matching twined rope.

Shaker Dance CostumeA1819

Costume made of cedar bark woven in a checker weave design. Edges are finished with smaller warps; wefts are left as a fringe. Red-brown in colour. Cape-like construction with two layers. Two panels of material hang down the front of the chest on either side of the neck with a twined cord tie attached on each side; a square, cape-like panel hangs down the back with a short cedar fringe along the bottom.
