One 2-strand twisted plant fiber fragment with decayed plant material(?) at one end. On previous tag written in black ink "45KI8/167", in pencil "3-3" and "q" on the back. Field Catalog Form confirms the provenience as Unit 3, Level 3 (27"), Braided cedar? cordage. I. Ostericher, 04/05/2011
One 2-strand twisted cordage fragment. Previous tag lists in black ink "45KI8/116", in pencil "2S3-3" and "l" on the back. Field Catalog Form lists the provenience as Unit 2S2, Level 3 (revised in black ink) and description as "5 small frags cordage/ Grass matting". We only found 2 small frag cordages, 45KT20/116.1 and 45KT20/116.2. (Pan Yi, 02/04/2010)

Two cordage fragments; One big cordage and one small cordage. Student thinks they belong to each other. Small fragments beginning to flake off from the material. One end of the big cord has a 7cm secondary twisted fiber rope running through the braids 3cm from one end. The braid varies from 1.5cm to 2cm wide. Appears to have sediment in the fibers. The original tag in a separate bag that stated "45KI8/109" in black ink and "2S2-5" in pencil. Field Catalog Form lists the provenience as Unit 2S2, Level 5 (revised) and description as "1 large and 1 small frag braided reeds". Students noted the presence of white crystals on the surface of the cordage. This large fragment is associated with small frag 45KT20/109.2. (Pan Yi, 2/2/2010)
