Ashtray3099/10

Heavy round stoneware ashtray with straight, pebbly, brown walls. The bowl has three indents on the rim and is smooth and green. Colour of the ashtray is darker at base of bowl and indents. A maker's mark is stamped on side near base.

Blue-grey stoneware vase with wide flaring brim and round mouth. Four notches rest on top of rim. Wide base slants inward before widening slightly for the rest of body. Four vertical lines down the length of the body are connected by curved lines. Brown spots are scattered around base. Maker's mark on back near base.

Squat brown and black stoneware vase. Deep lines down mid-section shift round body into a square with a wider roll on top and bottom. Overhanging lip is topped with four round balls. Four low feet are attached to base. Maker's mark on back near base.

Dark green jug-shaped stoneware vase with lugs for handles. Round top is attached to larger rectangular body with lipped base. Xs halved by a horizontal line circle the rim. Curved lines carved around the top of each side meet vertical lines that extend to the base. Maker's mark under left lug.

Tankard3099/6

Black and brown stein, or tankard. Outside is black speckled with brown, inside is brown streaked with black. Stein has a wide mouth and lipped rim. Round body is straight except for a bulge near the base. A wide concave handle is attached to one side. Maker's mark stamped on back next to handle.

Bottle3099/2

Large, round, stoneware bottle with flared lip and small round mouth, with a hanging loop on either side of mouth. Ribbing around the front edges is a pebbly brown colour. Discs of green tinged with brown decorate front and back. A braided rope is attached to the loops to form a handle.

The piece is stamped with the number 29815. One white and blue earthenware dish fragment with blue flow patterning. Some gilding remains on rim. Maker's Mark (incomplete): TOURAINE SEMI PORCELAIN HENRY ALCOCK & ENGLAND Rn No (?)29815 Glaze is cracking and crazing on interior and exterior surfaces. Gilding on rim is worn. L. Penttila 2/3/2010
