Beaded Anklet2790/16

Beaded anklet with crochet-like fringe. Strings of white, red, navy blue, light blue, pink, yellow and green beads are tightly wound around a bundle of brown fibre so that the beads create a geometric pattern at the front and leave the binding and fibres visible at the back. The anklet is flexible and bends to fasten at the ends with a brown plastic button through a blue bead loop.

Pair of long, chain-like ankle rattles made from palm leaf; leaf has been folded and secured to form a series of pyramidal containers with stones inserted. A fibrous twined cord is strung through two sides of each container to create a long chain.

Pair of beaded anklets (parts a-b). Numerous colours in an interlocking cross design. The main design of the first anklet (part a) is consisting of a diamond shape with a v-shape at either side. The diamond shape, from the top down and from the left to the right, has cross shapes in the following: dark blue; green and yellow; pink, orange-red, and green; light blue, white, pink, and dark red; dark red, dark blue, and yellow; yellow and orange-red; and green. The v-shape on the left side has the following: yellow, dark red, dark blue, orange-red, pink, green, and orange-red. Attached to the v-shape on the left side, there is a pink cross shape at the top corner and a light blue one at the bottom corner. The v-shape on the right side has the following: orange-red, light blue, pink, grenn, yellow, dark blue, and pink. Attached to the v-shape on the right side, there is yellow cross shape at the top corner and a dark red one at the bottom corner. All of the shapes are outlined in black on a white background. The edges of the sides have a vertical row of rectangles in various colours. At each of the top corners, there are two light blue beads attached with a loop on one. At each of the bottom corners, there is a small orange bead. The second piece (part b) is the same as the first (part a). Flat panel beading.
