The belt is long and narrow with silver beads sewn onto a doubled red wool band. The beads are sewn in five long rows and completely cover the red band except for the ends. The fibre used for sewing is brown.

Rectangular belt covered with bright, multicoloured quillwork, backed with printed flannel, and bound at the ends with black velvet. Green glass beads sewn along length of belt on both edges. The design on the belt is symmetrical; closest to the edges is a pink quill in a zigzag pattern with mauve background closest to the edges and brown on the other side of the zigzag. There is a white stripe. At the centre is a yellow diamond pattern with brown background and pink strips at the centre of each diamond.

Rectangular belt covered with multicoloured quillwork, backed with black-navy wool, lined with a row of white beads, and bound at the ends with red wool. Quills dyed red, purple, white. Geometrical design: octagons connected by an adjoining side to hexagons. Middle of figures has two parallel lines with squares in the middle.

Blue and black belt with brass hook and bar fasteners. On the front are horizontal stripes; two blue and one black. The belt is stiffened with cardboard and lined with white cotton.

Cantonese Opera Hoop BeltN1.833 a-c

Blue three piece hoop belt (part a-c). The rectangular pieces are curved and fit together. Part (a) has one leather tab folded back under belt loops and one wooden tab. Part (b) has two leather tabs folded back. Part (c) has two leather tabs folded back. The fabric is fixed over a wooden centre. The front has gold couched floral motifs including prunus, lotus and peony motifs on a royal blue ground. The back lining is royal blue cotton.
