Pectoral Bib3125/8

Ceremonial bark cloth pectoral, shield-shaped with a rounded bottom. Two thongs of bark attached to the top corners hold the garment around the wearer's neck. The cloth is decorated with vegetable dye in geometric patterns in yellow, red, dark blue and brown. The body of a toucan bird is attached at centre by bark thread, blue feathered wings splayed toward the edges of the pectoral, its head with very large beak hanging freely. The garment is edged in light brown and grey seeds, with several long feathers attached at bottom. The back is undecorated.

Black bib with embroidery. The ends are fastened with two metal snap closures. The inner edge is covered with blue binding. Around the inner edge are eight half circles with embroidered red flowers on green ground, outlined with red stitching. The outer edge is scalloped with stitching in white solid lines and red broken lines. The back is unlined.

Blue bib with printed design. The bib is diamond shaped with a top black square and two white ties. There are also white ties attached to each side of the bib. In the centre is a large white character within a circle on blue ground. Adjacent to the circle are pictures of an axe, cat, top and kite. The back is lined with white flannelette.
