The hollow mouth piece is carved of wood and flares at both ends. It is smooth and shiny and attached to the shaft with resin.

Long cylindrical barrel is slightly tapering and appears to have been made in two longitudinally cut pieces held together by the vine and string-like fibres wound at both ends. The tapered end has a small flat section, possibly used to balance one's fingers when taking aim.
