Cream coat with a short standing collar, long wide sleeves and centre opening with brass frog fasteners. Below the waist, the coat divides into narrow handing panels. On the front, back and sleeves are butterfly, peony and prunus motifs on cream ground. The sleeves have a border with red peony motifs on brown ground, edged with pink trim, round mirrors and gold braid. On the hanging panels are lotus, chrysanthemum and peony motifs on cream ground. The centre panels also have fire and mountain motifs. The upper lining is natural coloured linen, the lower lining is blue cotton.

Gray coat with small check pattern. The coat has a collar, long cuffed sleeves and front centre opening with metal hook and eye closures and plastic buttons. There are pocket slits on the upper front. The pattern is a small checkered motif in blue and gray lines on gray ground. The inside has areas lined with white cotton.

Red and white patterned coat. The pattern consists of elongated diamonds motifs filled with white circles arranged in horizontal rows. There is a wide patterned band around the neck and down the centre opening. There are two red and white ties on the inside of the centre opening. The short, wide sleeves have an opening under the arms. The inside is lined with the same red and white patterned fabric. The upper inside is also lined with an iridescent cream fabric with a garden scene in pink and white.

Blue damask robe with short wide sleeves, side slits and side opening with gold frog closures. The damask is woven with a circular and floral pattern. The collar and border have lotus, peony and many bird motifs on a cream ground, edged with solid black and purple floral trim. The sleeve border has two bands on a cream ground; one with floral and butterfly motifs and the other with figures in boat scenes, edged with purple floral trim. The inside is lined with light blue silk and white cotton.

Black silk garment with embroidered blue and white flowers. Sewn together at the sides and shoulders, with a short unfolded stand-up collar. Opens in the centre front, held together by four pairs of round metal buttons and has slits up each side. The collar is blue with several bands: white dots on red background, black dots on tan background, blue floral. Around the collar are more bands, floral on cream background, solid blue and purple, green on tan background, reach a decorative point beneath the shoulders. The bands begin again midway down the centre front of the tunic, continue along the bottom hem and midway up the sides. The bands are purple, green on tan background, floral on cream background and a thin band of solid blue. The end of each sleeve has a solid cream band that wraps inside the sleeve. The inside band has embroidery of women in a garden. There are many embroidered blue, white flowers spread over the rest of the garment. The bands around the neck and hem and the blue, white flowers continue on the back. The inside lining is blue-green silk.

Black coat. Around the neck and centre opening is a thick red fringe, an embroidered geometric pattern and seven rectangular metal pieces. The sleeves are long and around the cuffs are thin stripes in red, white and black with a thin purple and metal coil trim. The lower edges have blue trim. From the top of the side slits hang two purple tassels decorated with black and white seeds and beads. On the upper back is a striped fabric square with a long red tassel decorated with metal coils, beads and painted metal discs. The inside is unlined.

Man’s wool coat with blue designs. The coat is made from narrow widths of dense, coarse wool textile that has been fulled and embroidered. The coat has long sleeves, side slits and centre front opening with three buttons. The edges of the opening, sleeves and hem have a triangular motif. On the front of the coat the embroidered designs consist of vertical rows of small circles On the back the designs include tree of life, diamond and ram’s horn motifs. The embroidery thread is indigo-dyed (?) wool fibre.

Long white ramie coat with long sleeves and an overlapping centre opening with ties. The coat has a V-neck with inner and outer facings of the same material and rounded corners at the lower edges. There is a narrower outer facing or collar of white silk-like fabric squared at the lower ends and hand-sewn in place. Two wide ribbon ties are attached at the mid-points of the wider facings and there are shorter, narrower ribbon ties on the inside. The sides of all ribbons were left unsewn. The sleeves are inset with straight seams with additional seams between elbow and wrist and slight convex curves at the lower edges. There are square reinforcements in the underarms. The coat has a centre back seam, a pair of flared gussets under each arm and a slightly flared panel descending from the mid-point of each outer facing so that the coat overlaps at the front when closed. The left facing has a wide hem as does the bottom of the garment. The sleeves have narrower hems. All seams are very narrow.

Long, flared coat with long sleeves and front opening overlapping to the right, made of white cotton fabric. The coat has a V neck with outer and inner facings of the same material and with a rounded corner at the lower edge on the left side, and a squared corner at the right side. There is a narrower outer facing or collar of white cotton squared at the lower ends and hand-sewn in place. One wide ribbon tie is attached at the mid-point of the place where the wider facing meets the front edge and another is attached at the corresponding level on the right side. There are shorter, narrower ribbon ties on the inside, attached to the facing and on the left underarm seam. The sleeves are inset with straight seams and have slight convex curves at their lower edges. The coat has a centre back seam, a pair of flared gussets under each arm and a slightly flared panel descending from the mid-point of each outer facing so that the coat overlaps at the front when closed. There are small openings in the side seams at waist level on each side. The inside facings are not stitched in place. Coat made to be worn with pants and jacket (2535/1, 3).

Long coat with both the outer layer and lining made of fine white cotton fabric. The coat is made of ten flared vertical panels. It overlaps to the right, with two long, wide ribbons of the same fabric for ties. The coat is secured on the inside with shorter, narrow ties of the same material, positioned at the same level. When closed, the overlap forms a V neck edged with a stiff collar covered with shiny white fabric patterned with characters. The ribbon ties are centred at the lower ends of inner and outer facings with rounded edges. The sleeves are attached with a vertical seam somewhat beyond the shoulder and have a lower seam shaped in a convex curve, narrowing to the wrist. There is a small underarm reinforcement on each side, with an additional rectangular reinforcement or repair in the left underarm. At waist level there are openings at each side. All seams are concealed.
