Wooden cup or kero decorated with polychrome designs in which pigments are inlaid in the wood. The scene on the upper register depicts a Chuncho dance, which was performed throughout the colonial period and into the 20th century, to commemorate the Inca defeat of the Chunchos. The Chunchos or Anti were a tropical highland group who were regarded by the Inca as savages. The human figures in the upper register are shown in Spanish dress. The middle register consists of tocapu designs and the lower register is decorated with images of flora and fauna.
Attic black figure two-handled cup. Both sides of the cup depict a charioteer between large palmettes. The foot of the cup is thick and rounded, and the bottom of the cup shows concentric rings. The inner surface of the cup is black.
AMEC Analysis: Part: Base Pattern: Featheredge Date Range: 1880 to 1918 Comments: This vessel was manufactured in the later period of Hapsburg Austria, indicating an age range of 1880 to 1918. One clear glazed porcelain tea cup fragment. Gilding on handle and just below rim on exterior of cup. Maker's Mark: M.Z. AUSTRIA Beginning portion of "AUSTRIA" is missing, though Maker's Mark is still identifiable. Small crack on body near handle. Brown discolorations near handle. J. Dougherty 12/09/2009

Three cracks on fragment: one extending down from rim to mid-body, one visible on exterior only extending a third of the length of the vessel, one begins a third of the way down from the rim and extends diagonally another third of the way down. AMEC Analysis: Part: Whole Pattern: Asian Comments: This piece consists of two fragments with green Asian patterned decoration. Two white porcelain cup fragments. Exterior is decorated with green and brown patterns in representational scenes (floral, cloud, building etc.), probably transfer printed. Approximately two-thirds of cup is present. Larger fragment labeled 45KI765/P14-49a, smaller fragment labeled 45KI765/P14-49b. Some decoration appears to be worn away. L. Penttila 2/1/2010
