Cloth doll with embroidered facial features. She is wearing a belted black dress and pants. Doll has a beaded headdress and multi-strand necklace; necklace is done in yellow and orange. The headdress consists of a ring and long woven train covered in horizontal bands made up of beads, buttons and bells; twisted fringe along bottom edge. Bells are silver, buttons are white and beads are done in orange, white, yellow, dark blue, pink, light green, and silver. Band designs consist of alternating vertical stripes, chevrons and plain horizontal stripes. Collar, cuffs and bottom edge of dress are decorated with yarn geometric designs; done in orange, yellow, light blue, pink, and white. Additional wavy silver ribbon trims bottom edge of dress. Opening of pants are bordered with wide green ribbons with heart-like designs throughout; ribbon trimmed in orange yarn, designs done in silver. Doll is attached to a wooden base.

Male doll, in seated position, with dried seal skin face. Nose, mouth and eyes are done in relief. Eyes are coloured with dark blue ink(?). Small holes in nose, imitating nostrils. Large tongue sticking out of mouth; cleft chin is pronounced underneath. Eyebrows and hair made of seal fur. Figure is wearing seal fur clothing, consisting of a parka, mittens, pants and boots. Parka hood is pointed and has leather ties hanging from the tip. Hood, cuffs and bottom edge are trimmed with sheep fur. Matching trim along pant openings.

Doll, in standing position, with a stone face. Eyes are incised, nose and mouth are carved in relief. Figure is wearing dark blue wool clothing, consisting of a parka, pants, mittens and boots. Parka has white fur trim on the hood, cuffs and front bottom edge. Back of parka extends into a long flap, bordered with a wide white band. Pants have two white embroidered lines on each leg. Leg openings bordered with large white bands, decorated with pink embroidered lines. Boots have two white embroidered lines around their centres. Vamps are light grey. Manufacturer’s mark attached to back interior of parka.

Female doll in a standing position, made of cloth (part a). Facial features are embroidered with black and red thread. Two red “V” shapes decorate each cheek. Woman has long braided black hair, secured with red ties. Doll has a separate red cloth head ring (part b). The top edges are trimmed with a white fuzzy material, imitating fur, with a large abalone decoration on front. The doll wears a black button blanket with a wide red border along the top, left and right edges. Triangle and diamond designs along band, done in white buttons. Inner edge of border outlined with identical buttons. Central design on blanket of a thunderbird, done in red. Copper depicted on chest of bird, formline design elements across rest of body; done in white, red, blue, yellow, green and black beads. Underneath, she is wearing a striped dress with a lace collar, lace trimmed pants, and a black and red dance apron. Central design of a copper with two red bands underneath. Zigzag pattern, done in light blue beads, overtop the bands. Hanging from the points of the zigzags are gold bells. She is wearing black shoes.

Male doll, in standing position, with a stone face. Eyes are incised; nose, mouth and full cheeks are carved in relief. Small holes in nose, imitating nostrils. Tattoos incised across face, consisting of an arrow, and linear, curvilinear and circular motifs. Body is carved out of whale bone. Seal fur attached throughout, imitating fur trimmed clothing. Male is wearing a hooded parka with a long flap, pants, mittens and boots. Hood covered in fox fur, face opening trimmed with deer fur. Artist inscription on stone tag tied to doll’s left hand.

Male doll, seated on a basketry base, with a stone face. Eyes and mouth are incised, wide nose and hair are carved in relief. Figure is wearing fur clothing, consisting of a parka, mittens, pants and boots. Mittens are hairless. Bottom edge of parka has leather fringe. Dark brown highlights down front of boot calves. Vamps have dark green embroidery along their edges. White stuffed dog, made of sheep skin(?), in front of doll. Dog is wearing a harness, trimmed with fur, and the doll is holding the leather reins in each hand. Basketry base is undecorated.

Doll has a separate cedar bark head ring (part b), lined with red cloth, with two strips of fuzzy white trim along the top left and right edges, imitating fur. Facial features are embroidered with black thread. Two red diagonal lines decorate each cheek. Woman has long braided black hair, secured with blue ties, and white beaded earrings. She is wearing a black button blanket, with a wide red border along the top, left and right edges. Central design is of a sun(?), done in red. White buttons outline the border and the sun(?). Underneath, she is wearing a purple plaid-patterned dress and a dark blue dance apron. Apron has a central design of three feather-shaped sequins, connected by a green and white beaded arch. Two rows of green and white beads, in a zigzag pattern, beneath central design. Hanging from the points of the zigzags are large white beads. Black lines embroidered along edges of hands, imitating fingers. She is wearing dark brown shoes.

Female doll, in standing position on wooden base, made of corn husks. Face is featureless. She has long, braided black hair secured with red ties. Braided leather band knotted around head, with a feather tucked in the back. She is wearing a layered floral dress with black pants underneath. Edges of layers and bottoms of pants are decorated with multi-coloured beads. Beads stitched on in a zigzag pattern. Dress is belted at waist with a long leather tie. She is holding a large pestle in both hands, inserted into a cylindrical, bark covered mortar. Artist name written on base.

Male and female doll attached to a wooden stand. Dolls are made of stuffed white cloth and have painted facial features. Both have black and grey eyes, with white highlights, and thick eyelashes. The female doll has additional pink highlights in her eyes. Both have rosy cheeks and dark brown eyebrows. His eyebrows are thick, hers are curved. Their lips are full and coloured light pink. He has closely cropped hair, with a middle part. Her hair is pulled into a low braid, that hangs down her back, and is secured with a long red tie. The male doll is wearing a light pink jacket, with a matching outer neck facing and a cream inner neck facing. The jacket is tied shut with a large pink ribbon. Overtop he is wearing an open, dark purple vest, with beads along the left side of the opening. He is wearing loose pants, that match his jacket, and black shoes. All of his clothing components are covered in floral embroidery. Done in light pink and dark purple. On his back, the male doll is wearing a bell-shaped, carrying basket for wood. It has braided, plant fibre straps attached to a wooden frame, that rests against his back. The basket, tied to the frame with wire, is woven from white twist ties. His right arm is bent at the elbow and extending outward, palm facing inward. His left arm is wrapped around the shoulders of the female doll. She is wearing a short yellow jacket, with a dark purple outer neck facing and a light pink inner neck facing. The sleeves of her jacket are covered in horizontal bands. Stripes done in white, lavender, pink, teal, red and yellow. The jacket is tied shut with a dark purple ribbon. Underneath, she is wearing a dark purple dress with a wrap skirt. Around her waist, she is wearing a white, gauze-like apron, for holding flowers. Her right arm is holding the bottom corner of the apron, lifting it away from her body. Her left arm is bent at the elbow, with her hand in front of her chest, palm facing inward. Both dolls have their heads turned toward one another, their bodies facing forward. Wooden stand is painted black and has paper labels attached to the base.
