Braided reed plant fragment. Artifact Record #143 shows artifact was excavated by Eugene Giles on July 20th, 1953. In the log book, Artifact Record #143 reads "Pit# A, Instr D 5ft. Loc. 5 ft 10 in from stk 4S2, 8 ft from stk 5S2. Assoc. Apparently grass material." Note reads "found in pit, apparently sloughed off from higher level." 04/19/2011 I. Ostericher
Large fragment reed matting. Field catalog form records location as "4S2" and the depth as 31". The catalog form describes the object as "Large frag reed matting." Original tag reads the unit as "4S2-3". 04/19/2011 I. Ostericher
One piece of twisted cordage. Field Catalog Form lists object as Reed and Wood. Unit 3S5 Level 5. No depth information given. No field notebook number and no information on excavator or date. 05/19/2011 I. Ostericher.
Reed matting woven basketry fragment. The Field Catalog Form describes artifact as, "reed matting". Artifact Record #198 reads: " 7.2 from 5S2, 5.7 from 4S2. Excavated by Eugene Giles, July 27, 1953". Assoc. "Earth oven, feature #7". 04/19/2011 I. Ostericher
One plant fiber cordage fragment. The Field Catalog Form describes artifact as, "AR-207: Earth oven". Artifact Record #207 indicated artifact was excavated by Eugene Giles on July 27, 1953 at 5.9' from 5S2, 4.9' from 4S2 in Earth oven feature #7.
Woven reed matting fragment. Field catalog form shows AR-198 at field notebook #2. Eugene Giles excavated on July 27, 1953. Earth oven, feature #7. At 7.2 from 5S2, 5.7 from 4S2.
One plant fiber cordage fragment. Field Catalog Form describes the artifact as a "braided reed, knotted," also described in the Artifact Record as #166. Artifact Record #166 describes the provenience as: 5.2' from 4, 3.4' from 4S1. The artifact was excavated by Griffin on 7/21/1953.
Cordage fragment; 2 strand s-twist. Original site name was "45KI8 (B)" in Arifact Book No 1. Field Catalog Form cross-references artifact as "AF-163." Artifact Record #163 describes object, "cordage." Artifact was found in pit B, 8" below stratum, 57" from the NE corner and 17" from the NW corner. Excavated by Giesa on 7/20/1953. A. Iannone 04/12/11.
Eight plant fiber cordage fragments. Smaller pieces are bagged inside larger bag. Field Catalog Form describes as: " 6 pieces 2-S cordage".
Basketry fragment; 2-S cordage. Field Catalog Form lists provenience as, "B-Block B, AF-150." According to the Artifact Record notebook for #150, the provenience is: "Sq. B, 4" from datum, Loc.: 24" from NW Stk, 46" from NE Stk, by Giesa, 7/20/53." L. Phillips, 04/07/2011.
