AMEC Analysis: Part: Body Bottle Type: Beer Manufacture Method: Hand-made turned in mold One olive green glass bottle fragment with round base. Fragment includes entire portion from base to root of neck. The neck, collar and finish are missing. Tall kick-up indicative of wine bottles. Concentric horizontal rings present on body are indicative of turn-molded manufacture. Some Dried substance present on outside of bottle. J. Dougherty 01/21/2010

AMEC Analysis: AMEC Analysis: Part: Whole Bottle Type: Ale/Stout Diagnostic Base Mark: Valve Mark Neck Finish: Cognac Decoration: Paper Comments: The glass very thick and slightly asymmetrical, confirming the piece has an early date range. One olive green alcohol bottle with round base and champagne finish. Base features tall kick-up. Lack of seam molds on bottle. Symmetry of base and irregularity at shoulder indicates bottle may have been manufactured with dip mold. Irregular lines on surface of bottle neck. Bubbles present and small chips in surface of glass. Dried substance present on neck/finish of bottle and inside bottle. J. Dougherty 03/22/2010

AMEC Analysis: Part: Whole Bottle Type: Whiskey/Liquor Date Range: 1810 to 1890 Neck Finish: Lipping Tool Color: Brown Decoration: Paper One olive green glass liquor bottle with round base and straight brandy or wine finish. The bottle has a three part dip mold with a circular seam mold at the shoulder and two seams extending up to the collar. Some bubbles are present in the glass above and below the shoulder seam. There are a few abrasions on the outside of the bottle. Clay like accretion on collar and neck. J. Dougherty 02/22/2010

AMEC Analysis: Part: Whole Years (min): 1845 Years (max): 1913 Neck Finish: Lipping Tool Comments: This is a mineral water bottle. One round clear medical bottle with prescription neck finish. Two vertical mold seams end within 1" of finish, Cup-bottom mold seam present. A large amount of a dried brown substance is present on the interior which has loosened within the bottle. Horizontal striations indicate a turn-in-mold manufacture process, erased pontil mark on base probably indicates hand-made. Base has small, flattened push-up. Overall form suggests wine bottle. Grey and red residue on exterior of bottle may have once been paper label. Red, grey, brown and black residue on interior. L. Penttila 3/29/2010

AMEC Analysis: Part: Whole Years (min): 1850 Years (max): 1920 Neck Finish: Lipping Tool Comments: The mouth is broken off. Two clear glass fragments that cross mend to form one bottle with prescription finish and hub or golden gate base profile. The larger fragment is labeled 45KI765/P18-1a, the smaller fragment is labeled 45KI765/P18-1b. Two vertical seam molds on rectangular corners extending from post-bottom seam and continuing to 1/4" of the finish (similar to hand-made examples). Larger fragment has grey and black discoloration on the interior and grey discoloration on the exterior. Smaller fragment has significant crazing or cracking and black residue on the interior. L. Some irregularity on surface, similar look to whittle marks. Empressed Maker's Mark: JL & Co LTD G 705 Dried substance inside and outside of bottle. Iridescence inside of bottle. J. One clear glass bottle with prescription neck finish and blake base profile. Two vertical mold seams run from cup-bottom mold seam to within .25" of finish. Red, brown, grey and black discoloration on interior and exterior. Two chips from neck finish, one shallow and one deep, leaving about half of finish intact. L. Penttila 3/29/2010
