Wall Hanging2810/1

Rectangular seal skin with image sewn into the main skin using a patchwork technique. Lighter pieces of seal skin are used to create the images of an Inuit hunter with a spear pointed toward a seal under a curve of ice(?), with border designs at each end. The back shows the seams where all the pieces of skin have been sewn together. There are green Holman Island stamps on the back of the skin.

Hanging with three perpendicular sides and a fourth side that slopes inwards from one corner along the width. The hanging is composed of several panels of peony patterned brocade on light grey ground with muted tones of orange, green, red, blue and gold. Two peony patterned fabric tabs and two ties are attached to the front along the curved side. Lined with brownish-purple iridescent silk.

Large brocade hanging. The hanging is made of narrow strips sewn together to make a large rectangle. The brocade has floral motifs in ivory, blue and green on a gold ground. The back lining is green silk with ivory loops along the top edge.

The first piece has goldfish, lotus motifs and the second has bird, bat motifs, both on cream ground. The third piece is the shape of a butterfly with an orchid motif and patterns. The fourth piece has butterfly motifs and figures. The last piece has figures in a garden scene. The back lining is brown silk.

Long rectangular hanging with appliqué, embroidery and tassels. On the front are embroidered figures with appliqué faces in a garden scene with pine, bat, peony, cloud, bamboo and butterfly motifs on red ground. Around three sides is a wide brown border with blue appliqué floral and butterfly motifs, edged with black bands. Along the bottom edge is green netting with multicoloured tassels. The back is unlined.
