Hat3489/10

Woven conical hat with tiered, rod brim. Bottom rods are dark brown, top rod is painted red. Hat is done in three sections with vertical bands of geometric patterns in their centres. Section backgrounds are naturally coloured. Bands have centre of concentric diamonds, trimmed on either side with triangles. Three vertical lines run through geometric patterns. Lines done in red, diamonds and triangles done in black. Sections are bordered by rods, covered in coils of red and dark brown plant fibre. Coiled materials extend upward, over tip of hat, and create a three-arched loop. Tip of hat is black and dark brown.

Section backgrounds are naturally coloured. Bands are rows of concentric diamonds, painted black. Five vertical lines, done in red, run through pattern. Central line is wider than others. Sections are bordered by rods, covered in coils of red plant fibre. Coiled materials extend upward, over top of hat, and create a three-arched loop. Tip of hat is black and red, with red geometric motifs throughout.

Hat3477/2

Woven conical hat with braided circular brim. Hat is done in four sections of tight weave with openwork in between each section. The first openwork band, made of "X" shaped designs, is bordered on either side with dyed dark purple grass. Top of hat is crowned with a tapering cylinder, with diagonal patterned openwork sides. Four interlocking loops overtop and around cylinder. Inside of the hat, there is a loosely woven band to fit on a head.

Beaded fabric hat with a semi-spherical top and downturned brim, covered in circular, cylindrical and spherical beads which create a triangular pattern (dark green, green, navy, blue, light blue, brown, dark brown, yellow, dark yellow, pink, white and black). Numerous strips of fabric covered with blue and orange elongated rectangular beads hang from the edge of the brim. Two beaded bird figures made out of purple fabric are mounted on top of the bowl of the hat. The outside fabric of the hat is a green and beige plaid pattern and the inside is black with beige face prints.
