Cassowary feather headdress consisting of a curved, braided band with twisted ties on either end. Multiple feathers are bound tightly to pieces of reed(?) and the bundles are woven into two layers along the band. Feathers at front are red-brown and black; back feathers are a mix of white and light brown. Additional layer of bound reeds woven along back of band.
Fragments from a headdress. Consists of feather plume (part a) and reed shards (parts b-e). Shards are likely from the headdress structure. All reeds have slightly curved interiors and are brown-orange in colour. Plume made up of long white, purple and green feathers. Majority of feather quills are wrapped in beige thread. Ends of quills twined together.
Feather plume from a headdress(?). Individual yellow parrot feathers, streaked with light green and light orange, with braided plant fibre attached to their ends. All braids are bound together, securing the feathers in a bundle. Additional black thread tied around the plume, slightly above the braids.
Headdress made of a brown felt cap with a small leather and beaded band around the forehead. Long white and dark brown feathers attached above the band, all around edges of cap. Six small white feathers sewn directly to top of cap. Long feather shafts wrapped in red fabric and secured to the brown cap by loops of skin. Strands of animal hair adhered to white, circular pieces of fabric that are attached to tips of all of the long feathers. Beaded forehead band has designs of crosses and pyramids done in white, dark blue, orange, black and red. Band has two beaded circles attached to ends with crosses and triangles done in light blue, red and black. Strands of silk-like fabric drape down from centre of beaded circles. Strands are white, lavender, dark blue and dark yellow.
Feather headdress(?) composed of a small conical woven base with hole at centre, and feathers tightly woven in creating a ring. The downy feathers are attached closest to the base. A thin twisted fibre cord is woven to the rim with a length of cord left unwoven.
Wolf headdress with bared teeth and carved ears. Cut-out crled horns(?) project at the top, and a series of u-shaped designs project from the back of the head. Carved with great detail but the surface is now rough and weathered. Red and black paint are still visible.
Hair headdress, made from an extensive length of dark hair. Beads encircle the crown and there are occasional wool ties, which are used to secure it to the dancer.
Wool headdress woven in sections with cotton warp for about four inches. One piece of wire is shaped to fit the crown of an old felt hat. More wire is attached to this and comes to a point bent forward. The smallest section of wool is circled around this and joined together. The other two are attached to a cloth which is in turn attached to the hat. It is crowned with raven feathers.
