The steel is solid on one end with incised designs and double-ended in prongs with barbs on each of the two prongs.

On the opposite side to the elbow projection is a flat rectangular metal blade inserted on a downward angle, and perpendicular to the shaft in dark brown wood. The upper blade corners are rounded, and the corners at the sharpened slightly convex end are squared. 'M' is engraved on the blade's underside.
