Jug2862/24

Jug used for pouring chicha. The jug has a rounded body and the neck is shaped into a human-like figure. The figure has small, thin protruding legs as well as protruding arms with hands that hold two mugs and a bottle-shaped object. Around the figure’s neck is a scarf, with ends decorated with incised lines. The face is small, and topped with a wide hat with ear flaps. The top of the figure’s head is hollow and serves as the jug’s lip. A handle is connected to the jug at its shoulder and figure’s middle back. The body of the pot is covered with skin that is tied on with sinew. Sinew also wraps around the jug’s handle, and a braid of sinew spans between the handle and the figure’s neck.

Jug used for pouring chicha. The vessel has a bulbous body that rests atop a simple round foot. The shoulder is decorated with 3 flower embellishments. The neck is sculpted into a human-like figure with protruding legs and protruding arms, one of which is holding a mug. The arms appear to be singed. Figure wears a pronounced coat and scarf, with ends of scarf carved as fringes. The face is small with large round protrusions in place of the ears. The top of the head is hollow and serves as the lip of the jug. A handle is connected to the jug at shoulder and figure’s lower back.

Tall round jug with spout and a curved handle. Jug is glazed greyish blue with blue skeletal leaf and vertical line design. Blue line down the handle and around the rim. Foot is slightly raised and unglazed. Makers mark(?) on base. Domed lid (part b) with tall raised foot and handle on top.

Jug2827/21

Chimney-type black figure lekythos. The jar has a thick-lipped mouth, a tubular neck, a flat carinated shoulder, and a single handle. The tapering, tubular body of vase ends with a stepped base. A white slip and black paint have been applied to the red terracotta vessel. The vase depicts a scene involving a man and a woman, and there is a geometric design along the rim of the shoulder. The bottom third of the vase has been painted black.
