Mittens1128/9 a-b

Reindeer fur mittens (part a-b) are lined with wool and edged with leather. The fur is a mixture of light brown, dark brown and white. The mittens are lined with brown wool (knit in k2p2 ribbing). There is brown leather sewn around the edge of the wrist opening. There is a small leather tie attached to one side of each mitten.

The mittens are brown, oval shaped and made from two pieces of skin. Fine hair is still attached to the skin. Around the base opening there is a white band and green stitching with a small opening and a thin drawstring. On each mitten there is a brown tie sewn on the side opposite the thumb. The ties are knotted together, joining the mittens.

Pair of leather mittens with a long, flaring cuff trimmed with dark brown fur; a second band of fur encircles with wrist, with a leather fringe on both sides of the mittens running between the two bands of fur. Floral-shaped beadwork in white, orange, black and light green. Lined with bright blue, floral print fabric.

Pair of brown moosehide mittens attached to each other via a braided green, red, white and grey woolen cord with tassels. Dark brown beaver fur trim around tops. Light brown band of fur in middle of mittens. Area between the bands of fur on the top sides of the mittens are covered with black, blue, red, orange and grey fabric and beaded with multicoloured hearts and stars. Cut hide fringe down one side of each mitten. Hudson's Bay blanket used for lining.

Pair of hide mittens attached to each other with a long braided cord; cord is green, maroon, navy, and red-orange and has several pompom-like tassels along it. Mittens are trimmed with beaver fur around the top and have a band of white rabbit fur around the centre.
