The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Pair of nets, identical in construction, of coarse red/brown plant fibre. Each net is rectangular, woven in a pattern of rectangles. Each is composed of 66 rectangles. Lengthwise, the strands are composed of two-strand rope and are interwoven through cross-wise strands of four-strand rope. Two rope loops are attached, one end to each corner of the net. The cut ends of the rope are bound with cotton thread.
Net of sisal rope gathered into eight main strands at either end, where they are secured by a ring of leather. Attached at each end is a long strip of rawhide.
Limb from tree with two alternate branches which are bent and lashed together to form an oval. The net is lashed to the frame by vegetable fibres. Plain branch handle with bark still attached.
Knotted net bag of nettle fibre--decreases in diameter toward the bottom. Top edge attached to twisted cedar rope. This rope is attached on two sides to a wooden loop made by bending a twig and lashing the ends together. (These were probably attached to sticks as a means of suspending the net.)
Long narrow fishing net. The inner fibres are thin and woven in a diamond pattern. The outer fibre is thicker and run around the edges of the net. The net is widest in the middle and narrows towards the ends.
Net made from knotted plant fibre twine.
