Stone paint cup.* Round, both sides flat with shallow depressions. Fifteen grooves pecked latitudinally around the sides of the stone. Painted (ochre) in the pecked areas and in one depression. Other depression has ochre ground into it (6/95). *Information is from the original accession ledger.

Stone paint cup.* Groundstone tool/paint pot returned from Grant County Public Utility District, Wanapum Dam Heritage Center on January 25, 1995. These materials were originally sent to Grant County PUD for future exchange (see Borrower's Agreement - 1966), but the exchange papers were never drawn up. Since this material was only loaned, not deaccessioned, the Grant County PUD returned it to the Burke. (L. Phillips, 1/26/95). Two cups, one on each end. Flat stone paint cup.* One cm deep depression ground into one side, slight depression ground into other. Five knobs protrude from "body" -- two on one side, one on the remaining three sides. Slightly anthropomorphic/zoomorphic (6/95). *Information is from the original accession ledger.
