Plaque2010-37/7
Plaque2903/17

A ceramic plaque in high relief depicting Christ and a cow. Around the perimeter of the work, there is a painted, decorative border; in the top left and bottom right, the border is red with black curvilinear lines. The red wraps around the corners. In the top right and bottom left, there is a red triangle in each corner and one on either side of the corner. The rest of the border is painted yellow-white with a pattern of red and black lines. The ground on which Christ and the cow sit is red and has clusters of short black lines to represent grass. Unlike the rest of the image, Christ and the cow are in relief. Christ perches on the cow’s body with a book open on his lap. He wears a baggy robe. There are red and yellow haloes around Christ and the cows’ heads. Christ’s halo seems to extend around his body or he wears a red and yellow cape. The cow has brown spots on its body and has horns. Near the top of the plaque, there is a hole through the ceramic for hanging. On the back of the object, there are three pieces of tape with writing on them. One piece has a hole with a grommet that corresponds to the hole through the plaque.

The third victim stands on the left side of the image, and his face appears to have been slashed and his feet are bare. Throughout the background of the plaque there are stars formed by 8 bisecting lines. In the top right corner there is an indecipherable image, oval in shape with a pointed bottom. There is also an indecipherable object slightly left of the second victim’s head. There is a thin line which forms a border around the edges of the plaque.
