Large circular plate with raised curved sides and a slightly raised foot. Plate is glazed green and deepens to a darker green towards the centre. Design of a horse and its rider from side profile view in the centre in a brown glaze. Foot is unglazed. Base is signed by artist with makers mark(?).

Maker's Mark: O&E.G. ROYAL AUSTRIA Maker's Mark indicates this was made by Oscar and Edgar Gutherz in Alt-Kohlaw, Austria. Brown and orange discoloration on top and bottom surfaces. J. One white plate fragment from a square plate. Appears to be earthenware, although paste is obscured by discoloration from matrix. Green or tan geometric decoration around plate's rim is very regular, probably transfer printed. Same pattern and shape as P14-5.
