Pot2847/27

Small ceramic pot, light orange in colour, has a narrow mouth with a slightly flared rim and a short neck. The body is bulbous and the bottom is rounded. Four vertical, somewhat evenly spaced strokes of pigment in a darker orange have been applied to the body from shoulder to base. The rim top has been pigmented in the same colour.

Pot2906/2 a-b

Clay pot with lid. The pot is round with a large mouth topped by a thick overhanging rim. Two thick rounded handles each with small finger hole are attached near the neck of the pot. The neck is decorated with several bands of perforations in a variety of linear patterns. The shoulder is sharp and the body is undecorated beneath it. A small round pedestal, hollow, supports the pot and is decorated with a pattern of protruding squares. The lid (part b) is round, concave on the inside, and topped with a small round handle. A ring of incised decoration circles the lid close to its rim. A pigment has been applied inside and out, with some areas of staining. Small gold flecks can been seen over the surface.

Small ceramic pot. The body of the pot is round and squat with a rounded bottom. The circular face of a turtle protrudes, with a round snout and circular eyes. Two curving arms with perforations delineating fingers extend from either side of the face. Opposite is a short tail sided by two curved legs with feet and toes. The shoulder of the pot protrudes and slopes up toward a small mouth.

Round ceramic pot with a narrow mouth and a wide rim, with neck sharply indented. The body is bulbous with a rounded bottom. On the shoulder and body of the pot is a moulded and painted face with slightly protruding nose, brows, ears and eyes. The mouth is an indentation. All are emphasized with black and orange paint. Two black lines encircle the pot just below the face, and painted decoration can be seen on the shoulder around the back.

Ceramic bowl, tan and grey, with a wide mouth and a bulbous body that angles in at bottom to a rounded base. The pot does not sit stably on a flat surface. Linear glazed designs can be seen on the outside around the neck and somewhat on the body. The inside of the bowl is decorated with an asymmetrical series of glazed lines.

Small ceramic pot. The body of the pot is squared with a rounded bottom. The exterior is burnished a shiny dark orange and decorated with protruding vertical lines incised with oblong perforations. Three sides of the rim have protruding tabs decorated with two incised oblongs each. A fourth side has been partially chipped off. The mouth of the pot is wider than the base and the interior is burnished a shiny brown.

Small ceramic pot. The body is globular, decorated with encircling lines of colour in orange and brown. The neck is straight and has a linear series of decorations. The inside of the rim is coloured with an orange line. The foot of the pot is relatively tall, with many short vertical lines in orange and brown. The interior of the foot is concave. The inside of the pot is smooth and un-pigmented.

Small ceramic pot, the exterior burnished a slightly shiny orange. The body is tall and somewhat bulbous, narrowing toward a flat bottom. On the shoulder are two small curved handles. The neck is straight, ending in a thin rim and small mouth. The pot has two substantial cracks running down the neck and body. The interior is caked with dirt and some grey residue can be seen on the bottom.

Round ceramic pot with three legs. The pot has a wide, flared rim with an indented neck. The body is bulbous and angles sharply at a low shoulder into a rounded bottom, which is partially darkened by a black residue. The neck is decorated with thick, orange, vertical lines, and the body has six protruding animal figures. Three of these creatures are heads only, with high round ears and circular incised eyes. The other three figures have small bodies sprawled horizontally with faces turned to look upward. The pot has three long, conical legs, painted with dark orange stripes.

Small ceramic pot, orange in colour. The body of the pot is slightly bulbous and somewhat uneven in construction, with a round bottom. The neck is indented with a flaring rim. Three sets of two vertical white pigmented lines, quite faded, decorate the pot from the neck to midway down the body.
