Reliquary for Salazar2956/157 a-c

Assemblage piece: wooden carved figure wearing a hat (part b) and decorated eye glasses (part c). The figure has a long wide face with a long protruding nose and white teeth, and stands with long thin legs on a wooden base. The glasses, incised and painted in multicoloured designs, are held on by the figure's protruding ears. The hat is black felt with a curving brim and has a brown paper label taped to the front and sides which reads: "Chapeu que foi? de Salazar não há brincadeira".

Dance Sash with Possible Representation of Broadface Kachina Mask05.588.7167

This handwoven sash is worn around a man's dance skirt and tied so that the design hangs down on one side in the front. The design is thought to represent an abstract Kachina face.

The Last Supper2774/4

Ceramic sculpture of the Last Supper with thirteen figures, all with exaggerated facial features. The twelve disciples are seated on small yellow benches grouped around a long, rectangular yellow table covered with a white and gold tablecloth and set with three plates and a jug while Jesus, crowned with a large gold halo, sits in a yellow chair at the centre. The name and date ‘MISTERIO F.M. 2008' are engraved by hand into the green base In front of the table.

Ceramic model of a Catholic church with two square bell towers at the front. The molded relief architectural features (crosses, rondeles, arches, door and window frames) of the light orange clay structure are highlighted with white paint and green glaze. Three figures with skeletal faces stand on a balcony above four figures wearing aprons that are lined up in front of an open door. Seven Deadly Sins Representation2730/4

Elaborate, round, golden-brown glazed, clay sculpture that is a combination crucifix and candelabra. Around the central element of Christ on the cross is a floral arrangement that includes four tall flower-shaped candle holders. Seven large, standing, fantastical animal-faced figures representing the seven deadly sins, with names written in Portuguese at each base, face outward from around the base.
