Squid Sculpture3483/3

Small squid figure made from reclaimed plastic fishing nets. It has a long grey and turquoise mantle, with two light green and white fins along the sides. Edges of fins bordered with turquoise and orange strands. Head is white and turquoise with large, black circular eyes on either side. Eyes lined with dark blue and dark yellow twine. Overtop the head and mantle are curvilinear motifs, done in dark yellow plastic. Has a round, open orange and white mouth. Extending from the base of the head, surrounding the mouth, are eight arms and two tentacles. Tentacles are tipped with orange diamond shapes. All appendages are white with turquoise, dark blue, green and orange braided throughout.

Sea Turtle Sculpture3483/1

Small sea turtle figure made from reclaimed plastic fishing nets ("ghost nets"), plastic twine and rope. Turtle has a white, circular head with large, round black eyes on either side. Fins are white and blue, belly made of thick grey-green rope. Curved shell is white with black, turquoise, green and pink strands woven throughout.

Entre Cactus Y Nahuales3407/1

Unglazed and unpainted ceramic sculpture of a cacti garden, on a rounded mound. Back of mound is undecorated. Animals spread throughout garden, most along bottom edge. Animals include lizards, a rabbit-like creature, cat-like creature and snake. All animals are coloured beige, with dark orange highlights. Cacti type and size vary throughout garden, and are all coloured beige. Tree-like cacti have dark orange flowers along the tips of their arms. All design elements are textured, with impressed dots, incised lines and moulded ridges. Mound is coloured dark orange and has a small hole in the top centre. Large hole in the back of the mound. Artist signature on back.

Dios Padre e Dios Madre3407/2

Double-sided, unglazed and unpainted ceramic sculpture with an oval-shaped base and raised foot. Sculpture is triangular with a woman forming one side and a man the opposite. Female figure is wearing a dark orange veil, and scalloped headdress with a cross protruding from the top. A naked man is nailed to it, with a small sign above his head. The large female figure is wearing a long pink robe, with her hands held in front of her body, holding a pointed crown(?). Her robe has incised dots and raised floral and curvilinear motifs throughout. Her veil drapes down either of her body, in a trianglular shape, and is covered in raised floral and incised curvilinear motifs. In front of her, is a tall male figure, flanked on either side by six smaller male figures. All are wearing robes with raised floral and incised curvilinear motifs. The central figure has both hands raised up, the others have their arms crossed or hands held in prayer. In front of all of the figures, on the base of the sculpture, are plates, cups, a platter of food, and a jug. The male figure, on the opposite side of the sculpture, has a long moustache, pointed beard and curly hair. He is wearing a pointed headdress with a cross protruding from the top. A winged woman, wearing a crown, is tied to the cross. The large male figure is wearing a long robe, with his hands clasped in front of his body, holding a large flower. His robe has raised and incised curvilinear and dot motifs throughout. On either side of his body, the triangle sculpture is covered in raised floral and incised curvilinear motifs. Beneath him, there are two scalloped archways with a scalloped pedestal in between. A baby lies on the pedestal, with a man and woman on either side of him. Both are wearing capes and robes covered in raised floral motifs. The woman is wearing a veil and both their hands are held up in prayer. A horse and cow kneel next to them, looking up at the baby. In the two flanking archways are angels, wearing robes identical to the man and woman. In front of these figures, along the edge of the sculpture base, are three men wearing capes and headdresses, and holding offerings. The men on the sides are riding horses, the man in the centre is on an elephant. Throughout the scene are flowers. All figures, crockery, plants, and animals on the sculpture are beige, with dark orange highlights throughout. Artist signature carved along the sculpture foot.

Manga Ormolu 4.0h3386/1

A mixed media sculpture consisting of a Chinese-style blue and white ceramic plate with robotic prosthetics along the top and bottom edges. Plate has a concentric diamond pattern along border, with fruits designs inside curvilinear motifs throughout; cheek is undecorated. In the well, two robed figures are depicted standing on a terrace; sun, building and vegetation are in the background. Top edge of plate is partly squished by a triangular attachment from the top robotic prosthetic; attached to the main body with black cables. Both prosthetics are yellow with white stripes and grey panels. Top prosthetic has two silver-coloured jacks and two white, grey, and black blades extending from the left side. Bottom prosthetic has a black grill with two silver-coloured vents. Edition number painted on front of bottom prosthetic; artist signature and date made on back.

White ceramic sculpture of five upright baby-like standing figures, all facing the same direction, in a row. The first four are front sides, the fifth is the backside of the figure. All five stand on a raised base. Made of white clay with a clear glaze, however the base has some black on the side.

Sauge Squid3431/1

Giant squid sculpture made from reclaimed plastic fishing nets ("ghost nets"), plastic twine, mild steel, and galvanized wire. The figure has a partial metal frame inside. The squid has a long mantle made of net and coiled plastic, six white arms with coiled red suction cups, and two longer feeding tentacles with blue netting on the diamond-shaped tips. It has two giant circular eyes on either side of its head, a round open mouth with black beak, a multi-coloured fringe-like collar, and two long fins made of black and gold net with white coil decorations.

Supernatural Eye3224/1

Large scale aluminum abstract sculpture. Stands on, and is attached to, a thick, black stone, oval base. Sculpture itself is made of epoxy powder-coated aluminum, with a brushed silver surface. On three legs stands a large eye in formline design, with two concentric ovals forming the pupil inside a large open space. Sculpture’s simple lines vary in thickness.
