On the edges of the skirt are thick black borders with phoenix, lotus and peony motifs in white, dark and light blue. On the edges of the pleats are thin black borders with a gold floral trim. Between the pleats are panels with phoenix, dragon, bat, rectangular gold ornament and wave motifs in red, orange, yellow, blue, green and white on red ground. On the main front panel are dragon, swastika, bat, pair of rectangular and circular gold ornaments, scroll and musical stone motifs and the eight Buddhist symbols of good fortune. The inside is lined with pink silk.

Red skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide pink cotton waistband with three white buttons. A thin white tie is attached to a loop on the waistband. On the edges of the skirt and pleats are ecru borders, some with a wave pattern. Scattered on the front and back panels are peony and leaf motifs in pink, white, turquoise, purple, gray and black. The inside is unlined.

Maroon skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. On the edges of the skirt are thick black borders with a white and black diamond trim. On the edges of the pleats are black borders. On the front and back are square sections with peach, ‘Buddha’s hand’ citron, fish, bat, vase, peony, and book motifs among others, in pink, red, blue, green and white on maroon ground. Scattered on the lower half of the skirt are flower and butterfly motifs. The inside is lined with green silk.

Multicoloured damask skirt (part a-b) with pleats. Across the top is a wide, orange cotton waistband with three frog closures. A flat orange tie is attached to a blue loop on the waistband. The multicoloured damask panels are woven with Buddhist and Taoist symbols of good fortune. Hanging from the waistband are four long panels, each with three tassels on the pointed ends. Hanging lower on the skirt are eight small panels, with a single tassel on the pointed ends. The border around the edges is cream with a dark blue band and multicoloured pictures surrounded with gold couching. On the rectangular front panel is a figure in a garden on cream ground. The inside is lined with blue silk.

Small turquoise damask skirt with cotton waistband, centre slit and embroidery. The damask is woven containing a geometric and floral pattern. On the front are peony and bat motifs in red, orange, yellow, blue and white on turquoise ground. The border along the hem has peony and lotus motifs among others, in white, light and dark blue on black ground. The inside lining is pink silk.

On the edges of the skirt and pleats are solid black borders, some with an added border of purple, blue and white zigzags. On the front and back are polychrome panels of butterfly and peony motifs in pink, red, yellow, blue, green and black. The inside is lined in green damask woven with a floral pattern.

Multicoloured damask skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with three rows of frog closures. The various damask panels are woven with bat and flower motifs and eight Buddhist objects of good fortune. On the edges of the skirt are black borders. On the front and back are panels with elaborate borders and butterfly, bat and fish motifs surrounding rectangular pictures of Chinese figures in red, gold, yellow, black, purple, green and blue. Small embroidered butterflies with beaded eyes and black bats are attached between the panels. The inside is unlined.

Green damask skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. The green damask is woven containing bat motifs and the Taoism’s Eight Immortal symbols. On the edges of the skirt are black borders with gold and black trim. On the front and back are panels with chrysanthemum, vase, peach, ‘Buddha’s hand’ citron and deer motifs in gold and black couching sewn onto the skirt. The inside is unlined.

On the edges of the skirt are borders with lotus, chrysanthemum and peony motifs in blue and white on black ground. On the front and back are panels with butterfly, lotus, chrysanthemum and peony motifs in gold, blue and white on dark red ground. The inside is unlined.

White skirt (part b) with embroidered cross-stitch hem. The skirt has no waistband and an unfinished upper edge. The bottom hem is has an embroidered band with a black triangle motif on dark red ground and edged with blue. Above the band are figure, animal and floral motifs in red and black on white ground. The inside is unlined.
