Spindle WhorlNbz900

Rounded, wooden disc with a hole perforating the center. One surface is slightly concave and the other is slightly convex. The convex surface has two darkened parallel lines along one side. Both sides have small chisel marks on their surfaces. The wood is a red-brown colour with darkened areas.

Round wooden spindle whorl with a hole in its centre. The top surface is convex with a flat ring around the hole and is painted with animal designs: raven and killer whale. The whales are predominantly orange with yellow accents, while the ravens are blue with orange accents. The back is slightly concave (with a small leather strap nailed into wood).

Rounded wooden disc with hole in centre. The dorsal surface is slightly concave, while the ventral surface is convex with the central hole being the highest point. There are four lines incised into the convex side, directly around the central hole, which radiate out in four different directions. The wood is a reddish brown colour, and is darker in the area surrounding the opening for the spindle.

Fouteen spindle whorls threaded on handspun cotton yarn; six are convexly conical, of incised black on orange ceramic; one is flat ceramic disc; four are globular or conical stone (?), these are green (three) and yellow (one). One of the green is half missing and two are decorated with drilled, dotted circles. The yellow is plain. Two whorls are made of yellow shell; one truncated biconical whorl is made of metal and is now covered in green deposit. All whorls have a central hole.

Spindle whorl comprised of a round, wooden disc with a small hole in its centre. Flat dorsal surface and slightly convex ventral surface. The convex surface is engraved with an anthropomorphic bird figure with lines radiating from around its body. The head and torso are human-like, but the legs and wings are bird-like.

Wooden spindle whorl (parts a-b), consisting of a disc with central hole (a) and long wooden spindle (b). Raised lip around opening on convex ventral surface of whorl; dorsal surface is flat. Decorated on the convex surface with images, in pencil, of two whales and a human figure. One of the whales also has a small human figure depicted on its back. The spindle shaft narrows at each end, and one end is wider than the other.

Spindle consisting of a thin wooden shaft that tapers towards both ends, and a slightly rounded disc of dark coloured bone which comprises the whorl. The whorl is fixed at the middle of the shaft through a hole in the centre of the whorl.
