Stone dish.* Fide donor GTE: Large, dish of stone of a granite character of stone. It would appear to have been a natural flattened boulder that required little labor to convert it into a dish. The shallow hollow has been pecked out. Said to have been used for household purposes in mashing roots, berries and nuts for food purposes by means of a stone pestle. Object is disc-shaped, with small (approximately 10 cm in diameter) distinct impression. Disc periphery has signs of weathering, battering. Remarks: Approx. 1 inch depression in center of stone. Round in shape with fracture down the side that has been glued/repaired. This stone has been chipped and broken along the perimeter. Paint marks and slight abrasions present. *Information is from the original accession ledger.
Stone mortar with carved bear heads.* Round with depression in one side. Three carved heads on rim. Traces of red and yellow paint on body. (6/95). *Information is from the original accession ledger.
Hopper-style mortar. Note on Fred Meyer bag found with object: "stone bowl from Whitcomb Flats below McNary Dam, Scotty Hallett, 9-29-92" (See copied label in 2002-11 accn. file) Accn#1994-5? Was this supposed to be deaccesioned with the rest of the McNary stuff?
Mortar with concave depression approximately 23 cm in diameter. One crack from edge to middle of concave center. Two cork remnants on bottom approximately 2-3 cm in diameter. Weight: 7+ kg is estimated. (ARC 5/31/00)

Pyramidal shape with mortar depression on base surface.
The catalog card associated with the artifact says, "site 45-Cl-21 find number 43-5, description milling stone, elevation test trenches by Schroedel (08/12/1971)." Mortar has flat rim and circular depression confined to center. Depression is 3 cm deep and 8 cm in diameter. Abrasion and red paint present on rim. MN, 12/5/2002
