The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

A medium sized utilitzed flake. The belonging is a medium opaque grey, with a fine grain. The dorsal surface is covered entirely smooth cortex. The rounded edge is thin, sharp and has some use-wear. The ventral face has a flake scar between the rounded portion and the protruding point, and a bulb of percussion. There's also a small hairline crack on the rounded portion of the ventral face.
A medium sized slate fragment, possibly a thumnail scraper. The belonging is a light grey with a very fine grain. The ends are rounded, and the spine near the catalogue number is thick, the body gradually tapers down to a thinner edge. Both faces are smooth, either from being sanded down or use-wear. The dorsal face has a rough patch of exposed surface near the thinner edge. The ventral face has a little more texture than the dorsal surface.
A small glassy black utilized flake fashioned into a thumbnail cutting tool. The belonging has a very fine grain, almost smooth. The dorsal face sports bilaterally bevelled lightly jagged edges, and a small erailleur scar near the rounded edge. The bevelled sides meet in the middle to form a slightly raised spine on the centre of the belonging. The ventral face shows the bulb of percussion, and an impact site just above. Some light compression ripples are visible foinf length-wise to the proximal end.
A large cortex spall, the dorsal face is entirely made up of smooth light grey cortex with tiny varying shades of grey particles throughout. There's a dark grey square on the centre of the dorsal face. The ventral face is exposed but unworked save for the inital removal process; it's a medium dull grey with a coarse grain. Just below the black ink, on the ventral surface shows a single point of impact with a slightly raised bulb of percussion, a single flake ridge, and some light negative scarring. Some negative scarring along the outer jagged edge, too.
A large cortex spall. Medium grey with a beige hue and a coarse grain. The dorsal surface is covered entirely by a smooth grey/beige cortex, with an indent in the middle showing some exposed rock face, possibly from the initial removal of the spall. There's a streak of russet colour going around the indent, and extending to the edge closest to the catalogue number. The ventral surface show the initial impact site, with compression ripples doing length-wise. Some light off-white harris lines along both faces. Some use wear along outer edges.
A large net weight belonging. It is a silky light grey with a very fine grain, and varying shades of grey streaking throughout. There's a hole that has been carved into the belonging, with some use wear along the centre of the inner curve, and some light indents and use wear going width wise- potentially where the stone has been fastened to the net. Two potential point of impact sites, both can be seen more visibly from the smoothed ventral surface; One is where the lip of the belonging extends over the rest of the body, and the other is where one of the width-wise indents can be seen.
A large palm sized primary flake. Dorsal surface is completely covered with a smooth, light grey/beige cortex save for a single flaked off rounded section. The flaked off section sports a point of impact site along the edge, and some compression ripples. There's also a light off-white linear band, and some light surface scarring. The ventral surface has a point of impact site, and compression ripples. Some flake arrises, and a couple chips along the edge.
A large slate fragment. Possibly a knife or scraper. Both faces have been sanded down, with some negative scarring from the process. The belonging is a dark grey with a very fine grain. On the dorsal face there's a jagged half bevelled edge on the left mesial portion. On the ventral surface there's a bevelled edge along the curved proximal end, and an erailleur scar near the taller tip of the semi-squared distal end. The ventral face also has some slightly deeper sanding scars near the upper left mesial portion.
A large semi-ovular slate fragment. The ventral surface is nearly covered with cortex; The cortex is smooth medium grey with brown, white, and darker grey streaks. The exposed surfaces are the same medium grey with a very fine grain. The ventral face also has some exposed worked surface with flake arrises, compression ripples, and an impact site near the distal end. The dorsal surface has some flake arrises, a small compression ring, and an impact site from the upper left mesial portion.
A large slate fragment, potentially a semi-lunar slate knife. The belonging is a light grey with some darker grey inclusions and a very fine grain. There's also a dark grey section near the outer end edge. Some use wear present along the edges. Dorsal face has a few flake ridges, and some flake scarring along the edges, the ventral surface is flat and smooth.
