Drawing2811/21

A children's drawing on white cardboard based on the artist's experience of fleeing El Salvador for Mexico. The drawing is horizontally divided into nine scenes. The scenes, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, are as follows: flying to Mexico from El Salvador, arriving in Mexico, meeting with people in front of a large building, a figure watching television, a figure dreaming about his family, figures going to the cinema, three figures learning at a school, a cityscape, and a scene at the zoo. On the reverse, a sheet of lined paper measuring 22 cm x 16 cm has been taped in two corners to the back of the cardboard. This sheet describes the drawing in Spanish. The artist's name has been written on the back as well, on the cardboard itself.

Drawing2811/124

Children's drawing on legal size off-white paper. The top of the page contains an inscription that reads "martes 18 de octubre de 1983 sociales tema lapasada del rio lenpa". Below this inscription is a narrow path containing five human figures carrying round objects on their heads. To the right of this path is a figure holding an indistinguishable object, as well as a helicopter with a single pilot. This top third of the page is divided by an undulating horizontal band that represents a river. Below the river are four human figures. It appears as if two of the figures are male and two of the figures are female. Two of the figures are carrying objects. Below these figures, who may represent the artist's family, are the words "Beronica Ayala" and two houses.
