Coiled burden basket; simple interlocking coil work (bifurcated stitches) with vertical bands of imbrication. Plain overcast rim; parallel coiled work base. Several vertical bands of alternating black and red split diamond figures against white background. Bands on sides have red, black split diamonds. "Arrowhead" pattern. Buckskin loops. Colour: tan.

Burden BasketA9011

Rectangular flared coiled basket (bifurcated stitches). Parallel slat base and wall construction. Upper basket is fully imbricated in grass, with two parallel stepped zig-zag designs in dark cherry bark. Dark cherry bark stitches at intervals around rim. Lower portion of basket has three short bands on all sides except one that has two, in grass and dark cherry bark, in "cluster of flies" checkerboard pattern. Rawhide loops on one side. String handles on other sides.

Basket, circular in cross-section with sides that taper towards a base with a three-row foot. The basket is composed of simple coiled cedar root weaving (bifurcated stitches) with a watch spring base construction. Fully imbricated with a horizontal zigzag design in black, yellow-brown, red, and black on a yellow-brown bulrush ground.

Ornament made from a band of metal bent into a c shape with the ends folded back on the outside with two points cut into the edge of each. The ornament is roughly two thirds copper and one third iron, meeting horizontally along the middle, and it is incised with a geometric design featuring cross-hatched scallop shapes emphasized with incised dots at the edges.

Model mortar (a) and pestle (b): the indented rim of mortar has a dark brown finish, there is a band of dots around the middle, there are three black lines at the top of the base, and there are two handles with rectangular designs on sides. The designs are burnt into the wood. The pestle is cylindrical and slightly tapered towards one end.

Arrow with metal head that has slightly rounded sides and a pointed end with a short shaft that is bound to the long metal shaft with stem(?). Feathers have been bound to the shaft near the end with stem(?) whipping and the notched tip of the shaft also has stem(?) whipping wound around it.
