Print titled "Cats take calligraphy lessons." Classroom scene with many cats, wearing human clothing, writing calligraphy with brushes and ink. Colours are blue, green, orange, yellow and red. Black Japanese characters appear in columns across the top of the image, and also within the image. There is also a row of characters along the top edge, outside the border.

Two rectangular pieces of card stock printed with brown characters in blocks of text (parts a and c). Parts a and c are each enclosed in folded, large pieces of rectangular paper with brown and black characters printed on the front (parts b and d). Covering has titles in Japanese meaning "Houses of Japan", subject matter used in designing serviettes. Inside brochure gives details of designer and techniques used. Designer is Taizo Minagawa. Houses used in the design were famous for continuing cultural material.

He is wearing clothing that has a red brown and brown pattern on a black background with turquoise sleeves. The background is grey. Each lower outer corner has a circular red seal with black writing near it. The print is in two vertically rectangular pieces, adhered to horizontally rectangular paper.
