Label on mount says, "GENUINE" and is about the artist Hiroshige, his birth of 1797, death at 1858, and work period between 1818 and 1858. Red and yellow rectangles with black Japanese characters in top right corner, red and white rectangles with Japanese symbols in bottom left corner, also black round and rectangle with characters in same corner.

Kawanaka-jima Daigassen Echigo kata no zuN2.1127

Six panel print showing a battle scene of Kawanaka-jima Daigassen (川中嶋大合戦) with warriors on horseback carrying spears. Predominant colours are red, blue, brown, and black. The battleground is brown with a blue seascape that has green mountains behind. Along the upper edge, there are the titles of the work in black Japanese characters. The print is made of six vertically rectangular pieces, creating a horizontally rectangular image.

A boat with a dragon figurehead at the front. Dragon has an open red and gold-coloured mouth, a whisker curled back at each side, and two branches protruding upward and forward behind its gold -coloured and black painted eyes. Two masts, both of which have a four-tiered sail, however, with an orange-red flag in front and a blue flag in back.
