Long hollow animal horn. Object is curved, wide at base and narrowing toward tip. Tip is carved into an oblong ball. An open, rimmed mouthpiece is carved into the concave curve of the horn near the narrow end.
Bow made of wood and hair. A short piece of wood is bent into a 'U' shape, with several strands of what appears to be horse hair stretched between the ends, and attached by white plastic tape. The wood is partially painted green.
Stringed musical instrument. A long thin neck of wood is joined to a long, narrow, wood body which is partially wrapped in skin attached by metal nails to the instrument’s underside. Plastic strings stretch from the neck, where they are held by staggered leather thongs, to a wooden bridge near the bottom of the body, meeting several cotton strings that are used for tightening. A thin braided leather strap is connected to the bottom of the body and partway along the neck.
Stringed musical instrument. A long squared neck of wood, carved with several sets of diagonal lines, pierces the top of a round, hollow gourd, emerging as a short peg on the opposite side. Two long wood pins pierce the neck, each holding a metal string that stretch to make contact with a small wood bridge on the gourd, and extend to wrap around the peg. The bridge is glued to a piece of skin stretched over a large hole in the top of the gourd, attached with small wood pins. Gourd is decorated with carved lines in the shape of foliage.
Rattle drum with beater. Drum is constructed of a wooden core with a long thin centre that widens on both ends, where they are covered with stretched skin. The drum skins are attached to a rounded wooden rim by thick thread. Dozens of twisted strands of hide stretch between the two rims, partially hiding the wooden core. A leather strap is tied to a strand on one side, and a woven rope is attached to one rim by a thong of hide on the side opposite. Inside the wooden core are small dark brown seeds that create a rattling sound when the drum is moved. Part b is a beater carved from a single piece of wood, with a handle that narrows as it reaches a bend at top that culminates in a cone shape that is used to hit the drum.
Horned cap-like headdress. Helmet (part a) is made of half a rounded gourd, with rows of cowrie shells evenly sewn on in concentric circles, nearly covering the outer surface. Two long, curving horns, heavily ridged, emerge from the top of the headdress, tips pointing inward toward each other. (One horn--part b--can be removed.) From the rim of the gourd hangs a chin strap of braided tan and black leather with a leather tassel painted with black lines attached at centre along side a long, thin strap of leather covered on one side with cowrie shells, ending in a similar tassel . Parts 'c' through 'i' are similar strips that are detached from the headdress.
Wooden antelope headdress. Cut from a single piece of wood, the animal has a long, thin head with curved horns arching high above, a prominent neck constructed of several curved lines of wood cut into strips and blocks decorated with triangular gouges, and a rectangular lower half with square legs and a small rectangular base. Object has been stained a mottled dark brown.
Tall, thin openwork carving. The carving sits on a small oval base and rises in several levels of "v" and inverted "v" shapes to a thin, roughly triangular block at top. Incorporated into the V shapes are three animal heads (bats?) with protruding cone-shaped eyes and finely carved snouts. The wood is densely grained.
Figure of a standing female. Woman stands squarely, large feet planted on a thick stand, arms by her sides with fingers straight. Large breasts hang from sloping shoulders. Her neck is thick, and face is carved with an open mouth showing small teeth, a large nose, and fine brows. Eyes are made from round nail heads. Ears are large and delicately carved with a piercing in the left lobe. Her hair, parted in the middle, is held back from a high forehead by a thin band carved with vertical stripes, while the top and back of her head are carved with diagonal stripes. Part b is a cowrie shell necklace that is looped several times around the figure's neck.
Carved wooden mask. Face is long with a pointed chin, widening toward the rounded forehead. A ridge runs the length of the forehead and meets the bridge of a sharp nose. Lips are rectangular and protrude. Eyes are narrow slits cut through the wood, inset, and framed by delicate lids and brow. Diamond shapes are carved into the forehead and cheeks. Two small legs(?) are connected to the chin, large rectangular ears sit alongside the cheeks, and large, wide horns curve above the forehead. The back of the mask is concave.
