Double basket with lids on both sides (parts b-c). Woven basket is made of two nearly identical round bodies on pedestals. Necks narrow toward the rim, the round flat mouths hold lids. The two halves are attached by weaving, at the bodies' widest part. Basket and lids are decorated with repeating patterns of small crosses made from alternating black and red imbricated bark with a yellow grass centre.
Woven basket. Basket is rectangular in shape, narrow at base and flaring outward toward top. Rim is a large openwork scallop pattern of wrapped cedar roots. Two decorative lines of a repeating cross pattern run horizontally around the basket, made of imbricated red and dark brown bark and grass.
Rectangular basket with lid. Basket is short and long, woven with lines of red and black bark imbrication. The lid is attached on one long side by hide thongs, with two long thongs on the front for securing shut. Synthetic light blue fabric lines the interior of basket and lid, with a small piece of embroidered white cotton fabric reading "RWS" attached to the middle of the inside of the lid.
Woven basket with attached lid. Basket is rectangular, woven to create a small checked pattern, and decorated with an encircling large chevron pattern of imbricated red and black bark. A flat lid with inset lip is attached to the basket by two hide thongs, with a further two thongs attached at the front to tie the basket closed. Two long hide thongs are also attached at each side to create handles.
Very large basket with lid. Basket is rectangular, woven with cedar root and decorated with red and black cherry bark imbrication in a double line of large chevrons interspersed with diamond shapes. The lid is attached to the basket by three leather straps at back, with ties for closing at front. A leather handling strap is attached at each end. Three long strips of woven cedar serve as feet for the basket, attached to the base along each of the short sides and in the middle. A rounded lid fits over an inset lip, and is decorated with the same motifs as the body of the basket. Old, well-executed repairs are visible.
Wooden boomerang. Object has a long dingle with a slightly outward curving tip. Lifting arm is slightly wider, and elbow has a soft curve.
Undecorated sperm whale tooth attached to a woven cord, called a tabua. The cord is made of braided plant fibre wrapped with colourful strands of yarn. Two holes are bored through the tooth, one at the tip and one near the top, through which the cord is tied.
Large, wooden kava bowl. Bowl is carved out of a single piece of wood, wide at mouth, narrowing toward a pointed bottom. It stands on four peg-shaped legs. Between two is a carved, downward facing point. The bowl is undecorated.
