Finial derivation. Tall, standing carving of a group of figures. On the round wooden base a small masked woman stands with legs slightly crouched, hands by her sides, twisted rope decorating her waist, ankles, wrists and ears. A large decorated shield stands behind her, facing the opposite direction. It holds a large face, circular motifs along both edges, and twists of rope. A second masked woman balances on the shield, similar in appearance and decoration to the woman below, but taller. Standing on her shoulders is a large tan bird with a huge curved beak, its tail resting on the shield. It too is decorated with twisted rope. The eyes of the bird, women and face on the shield are made of shell. One of the twisted fibre cords is made of red and green strands.

A man stands behind her with hands on her arms. He too wears a mask, and has elaborate decorations carved into his chest. A crocodile balances on his head, its tail falling down his back. The crocodile’s chin rests on a white ball balanced on the woman’s head. Both man and woman have ear and nose embellishments made of twisted grass. The eyes of all figures are made of shell. The base of the sculpture is rounded, with the name “Lucas Tangun” carved into the side, as well as several grey footprints painted on it.
Large wood mask representing a skull. Mask has a long face, with protruding chin, open mouth showing even teeth on top and bottom, a relatively small nose, and large bulging eyes. A ridge spans from nose to top of head, and to either side on forehead are horn nubs. The face is painted extensively with swirling patterns primarily in white on a dark grey base, with yellow and orange embellishment. Ears are large and painted grey. A beard and hair of straw hang from the chin and around the opening into the mask. Small braids of the same are threaded through holes in the ears, with each ear holding a circular earring attached to a group of braids.
Tall, thin drum. The hollow wooden body is carved into an hour glass shape, with a small waist above midpoint and both ends flaring outward. The surface has carved designs of slightly raised swirls and scalloped lines on the bottom area, and repeating motifs of gently curving lines in the upper area. The handle takes the shape of a human figure that clings with hands and feet to the side of the drum, head turned to the right. The reptile skin cover is mottled brown and grey. Interior walls are black with charcoal.
Wood carving of a man, woman, newborn child and bird. The woman crouches in a birthing position, a baby emerging from behind her grass skirt. She wears an elaborately painted mask, and holds her arms above her head where a long bone is grasped between her hands. A large white cockatoo bird sits on the bone near a cup that the woman holds in her left hand. A man stands behind her with hands on her wrists. He too is masked and wears a skirt of braided grass. Man and woman both have long twisted fibre for hair. All figures have eyes made of shell. The base of the sculpture is a rounded circle of wood.
