Inner Shirt3068/3

Long sleeved shirt made of unbleached cotton. Sleeve cuffs are lined on the interior with dark blue silk. Front is open, with a short, standing collar. Three closely stitched lines the same colour as the fabric sit close together at the bottom. Fringe hangs from the unhemmed bottom of the shirt’s torso. Side slits are lined with bright red fabric.

Jacket3068/2

Long sleeved jacket made from woven dark red fabric. The front is open, with a short standing collar. Front and back below the shoulders on chest are woven with human and animal figures divided by lines of dots. Below this are circular motifs filled with lines and dots, divided by yellow triangular designs. The bottom hem is finished with a thick fringe. Short side slits are edged in shiny tan fabric and lined on interior with blue.

Dress3068/1

Sleeveless dress made from a dark red woven fabric. Vertical lines of white and light green are woven into the fabric, dense at centre, widely spaced toward the edges. There's a line of embroidery near the bottom in a multicoloured triangular motif. The garment is wide and rectangular in shape, with arm holes on the top edges. The skirt part is made up of 4 pieces of fabric sewn together. The neck opening is a short ‘v’, front and back, edged with shiny light grey fabric. The tunic is unlined.

Pipe3058/5 a-b

Pipe. Head (part a) is carved from soapstone, with an octagonal chamber, and a thin ring of brass at base of shank. The stem (part b) is made from smooth, red brown wood, with a flattened lip and bit, rounding through the mid-point. Tenon is black.

Soapstone oil lamp, light grey in colour with darker specks. Shape is rectangular, with straight sides that incline slightly toward base. Carved well is deep. Small straight handles have been carved into the short sides of the object, and protrude slightly.

Model Kayak3058/1

Model kayak. Thin pieces of bent wood tied together with sinew make a rigid interior frame that is covered with a single piece of stretched hide, sewn together along the top of the kayak. Two harpoons (?) with wood handles attached by sinew to bone heads are held to the model in front of the cockpit, strapped in place by two thin, horizontal deck lines of hide. A carved piece of bone is positioned directly in front of the cockpit. Two holes have been bored through its base, which hold the deck lines in place.

Shoulder Bag3056/8

Woven bag in a rectangular shape with rounded corners. Bag is made up of several panels of woven material, sewn together. The background of the panels is a dark red, with linear motifs in different colours. The top-most panel is patterned with white blotches. The rear central panel is unembellished. A large zippered pocket is sewn into the front and small pleated pockets are attached across the bag’s ends below the midpoint. The top closure is zippered. A long handle is attached at top corners, and is adjustable using a metal buckle. The inside of the bag is lined in black cotton and holds a small zippered pocket.
