Wood carving of a figure and birds. Figure has a large oval head, painted white, with small, inset shells for eyes, a long nose with flared nostrils, and small mouth. Black circles and half circles decorate the face. The body is painted black, and has thin twisted rope at neck, waist and wrists. Arms hang at sides with hands flat against thighs. Feet are planted on the head of a large face which is painted similar to the figure’s, also with shell eyes, and upward curving horns. Two small birds perch on the temples. Tall birds span the carving from top to bottom, flanking the figure, beaks touching the top of its head. They are decorated with dark brown stripes. Small black and orange wings are folded on their backs. The back of the carving shows the back of the figure and bottom face, painted solid brown.

The handle is covered in small glass beads of white, black, dark blue and orange. Two strips of hide hang from the bottom of the handle and join at their distal ends, edged in green and orange beads, with transparent beads decorating the centre. At the bottom is a finely cut leather tassel.
Shoulder cape. Long and narrow with a woven flax band at top that holds four long braided and twisted ties at the upper corners. Long braids of flax are attached to the band and fall down in front of the cape’s open weave middle section, mixing with a thick row of hanging flax stalks at bottom. The stalks are the unprocessed ends of the woven fibre making up the rest of the cape, and create sound when moved. The top half of cape is decorated and reinforced with horizontal stripes of finely woven fibre, dyed brown.

Both basket and lid are decorated with a red ring which is crossed by abstract linear markings in light orange and dark purple.
