Tackle box of wood with a separate base (part a) and lid (part b). Together, the box is somewhat rectangular with a bulbous centre. A length of twisted cord is attached to the lid through a hole in the wood. The base has a raised edge, which fits snugly into the lid.
Long skirt of woven banana fibre with long fringe on both ends. Pattern: seven wide blue-black stripes separated by narrow red stripes background fields. The multicoloured threads used to edge the fabric are twisted into colourful tassels on all four corners.
Model canoe bailer carved from a single piece of wood. A small wood scoop, tear drop-shaped, with parallel handle extending upwards through centre of scoop.
Courting stick in two pieces carved from thin, long piece of wood. The shorter piece (part a) tapers in to a point at one end. The longer piece (part b) has a flat, rectangular section, and two barbed sections.
Slightly curved board cut in the shape of a canoe or outrigger platform. It is scored with twelve lines, and inlaid with various bead combinations. The convex side in plain.
Barnacle turmeric container nestled in a coconut fibre cordage macrame net and handle. Attached to the macrame are four frond bannerettes.
Small pouch of plaited pandanus fibre. Rectangular in shape and tightly woven in two patterns, with a larger weave across the bottom inch. The flap and rim of the opening are decorated with angled fringe. Two thin plaited cords extend out on either side of the flap to form a short strap.
Pair of orange wood dance sticks with long shafts that bulge at centre, and flare out at each end. Part a has rectangular shaped tips, and part b has pointed tips.
Large kachina doll. Carved from wood, figure has a square head, rounded, with feathers attached to top and left side, and a single ear emerging from the right. On a base of brown, face is painted orange, blue, black and yellow around the black slit eyes. The figure has a long round nose, painted blue and orange. A thin cotton string is wrapped around the neck. Head sits directly on the shoulders, with carved arms held close to body and fists at stomach. Torso is painted blue, orange and yellow, with a ‘v’ shaped chest decoration in white. A long skirt with black, orange and blue stepped patterning down the right side covers most of the legs, with large feet emerging below and attached to a square base.
