Bead2847/190

Very small round bead, flat on top and bottom, with a hole bored through the centre. The bead is of uneven construction with one side taller than the other and one end of the bored hole wider than the other. The colour is a light mottled green, and the outer surface is shiny and smooth.

Beaded Mat2951/6

Round leather mat with a beaded, frontal image of a fox’s face. The animal has black and white eyes, a black blaze on the forehead narrowing toward snout, and black and yellow ears. Around the perimeter of the leather are alternating sets of orange and black beads. Part of the edge of the leather has been cut into short thick fringe, while the rest is untouched. Visible on the back of the piece are the threads used to attach the beads to the front.

Beaded Mat2951/5

Round leather mat with a beaded image of a bird’s head in profile. The head is black with a black beak, white eye, and white cheek. Groups of green beads encircle the bird at the perimeter of the leather. The edge of the mat is cut into short, wide, irregular fringes. Visible on the back of the piece are knotted threads used to attach the beads to the front.

Wall Hanging2951/3

Painted hide wall hanging. Scene shows several people in traditional dress engaged in a variety of activities. Two are walking with a foal, one person is sitting astride a horse that is on a yellow and red blanket held by two other people. Others hold small leafy branches. Trees and hills can be seen in the background. The scene is surrounded by a blue perimeter line. The edges of the hanging are cut with uneven fringes. The signature is painted on the bottom as “Johnnie Stelkia THITH-HAK-KEY”.

Ocarina Musical Instrument2847/17

Clay ocharina in a donut shape, thick and round with a central hole. The inside is hollow with two small holes bored on each side at top. At the front is an animal head(?) with two protruding circular eyes, an ear to one side (the other has been lost) and a large square nose. A windway is bored through the head from top to bottom rear, with a windcutter below. On the opposite side is a forked tail with a thick base, each fork curving and narrowing to where is connects again to the body.

Live from the 'Latch2954/1

"Live from the 'Latch" archival pigment print. The print is in the form of a poster advertising a musical performance. On a yellow background with monochromatic formline images is the shape of a red copper, containing red formline on top and bottom. In the centre is text printed in red and green referring to a concert by "Billy and the Chiefs." Image deliberately appears to be old (wrinkled and discoloured), with ragged edges. The poster is surrounded by a black background. Edition 3 of 67.

Altar Cloth2946/45

Small woven square altar cloth. Light brown with gray, purple, red orange, pink, green and yellow narrow bands at top and bottom. The centre stripe in each group has a diamond patterned in pink, white and green. There is a medium-thick, plain, purple-blue stripe at the bottom and top edge. The edging is multi-coloured with a zigzag pattern.
